I thought you'd all like to know that I was an Honorable Mention in the Writers of the Future Contest, which is a big deal. I didn't win, but it was my first try and the contest is judged by very prestigious authors, which makes me happy.

So, good news!

A fantasy story called "Irlgem". I like that story too.

Irlgem isn't even his best story. Artemis is waaaaay better. Both were astonishingly well edited, of course.

Well done again.

Artemis is about a space colony used as a sort of teaching colony for adolescent children. Atlas is a young girl there who 'befriends' a twisted boy named Ragnon because he can protect her, but when she crosses him while he is doing one of his sick experiments (pulling the wings off a bird to see what will happen) he sets off on a wild rampage to have her killed by other students, and ultimately to frame her for murders he committed. Under that, the authority of the facility actually uses his insanity and Atlas' victimization as a way to prove that Ragnon is not worth rehabilitating and must instead be destroyed. It works sort of like a Deus ex machine though. This is all around the idea of a decimated Earth (dead Earth).

On a side note, I just received my certificate for getting the honorable mention and it will be going on my wall at some point.
