I thoroughly enjoy the use of the Book Review section on this site, but I a few suggestions on how to improve it.

A Book Review Index would be a wonderful addition to the Stick Threads in the Review Section. It would have the listings in alphabetical order by book title, along with the authors name. Separated by a dash would be the name of the YWO member to indicate which members contributed to the reviews.

Also listing some wording to clarify that "no more then five reviews per book title" would be good so there is isn't an exceeding amount of reviews for one title, and also allows for a small variety of "good" and "bad" reviews for range.

Edit: Another thing would be to leave each post separate from each other instead of merging the threads together, so the links to the reviews don't all clutter one single thread.

Dummy example:

Spoiler:
Review Index:

F
- Falling Under by Gwen Hayes --- 1) Amateur_Voice

G

H

I
- Incarceron, by Catherine Fisher --- 1) Majyk, 2) Amateur_Voice

J

K

Thanks for listening!

I like the idea, because organization is always nice.

It would require someone to make the list and update it periodically. It's not really a big priority, however, so if anyone would like to create and manage such a list, I can sticky it. There are about 100 book reviews so far.
Edit: Another thing would be to leave each post separate from each other instead of merging the threads together, so the links to the reviews don't all clutter one single thread.
There are two links at the top-right corner of each post. One to show the post only, one to show its place in the thread. So you wouldn't need identical links like in you example.

The reason I thought it best to merge the Incarceron threads was simply because that book has had a lot of discussion already here and lots of people have given opinions on it - reviews tend to start discussions here - so I thought bumping the original discussion with your new additional opinions would have been better than having two threads with the same discussions in them and people getting confused between the two.

The directory sounds like a good idea though.

We can definitely create a stickied thread for this. I don't have time to index everything at the moment (my MA defense is on Monday and I have 19 papers to grade by Tuesday, 200 pages of theory to read and a response to write by Wednesday, a lizard to get to the vet, etc etc). But we could easily create something and any moderator could edit the thread at any time to add new stuff to it.

It's a good idea .

Awesome. I'm glad you guys liked the idea enough. The only reason that the dummy example had the same link as the first Incarceron review was because my review was moved with it. If it was separated, that's how I think it would look "set up" that particular way. I guess if no one volunteers, or rather has the time currently, to create a directory I can do it in my spare time if you guys don't want?

If you click "View Post #_" then you can get a separate link for that post. So you could have both reviews like this:

Incarceron Review, by Majyk

Incarceron Review, by Amateur_Voice.

I like this idea, too, by the way. I'd say go ahead and start creating it, if you want. As the others said, we can edit the thread afterwards if we have anything to add, plus sticky it so it's seen.

Since this has been done, I'm going to close the thread.
