What do you all think of adding a critique forum for audio/video submissions? One member has suggested the ability to post recordings of songs he wrote, and there's not really a place for them. I think things like songs, recordings, and movies can be critiqued just as well as anything else.

Thoughts?

It's an interesting idea. I'm guessing things like Movies/Videos will have to be kept to a certain length, not just to ensure critiques but to ensure that the forum isn't bogged down. (I'm not sure how it works, but I'm guessing the inclusion of a multi media section will slow the forum down.)

I like the idea that someone suggested of there being a small section or tab where you can embed a video from myspace or youtube of your song so that the lyrics can be critiqued with the music in mind, because that's the biggest restriction when critiquing lyrics.

As long as the videos are hosted on another site (Youtube, Myspace, etc) it won't slow the forum down at all.

Doing embedded videos is tricky because I'd have to configure it differently for each video site. The most popular ones should be doable though.

I'm iffy about it, but I'm going to let this one go with the desires of the members. It wouldn't do anything for me, but maybe it would be very interesting for them. So, if they want it, then I'm okay with that

Okay, so....what kind of categories should an Audio & Video section have? Multimedia technically refers to ALL kinds of content (including art and writing), so I renamed it Audio & Video.

Reading Aloud
Animation
Music
Performing Arts
Talk/Discussion
Podcasting
Other
