Okay Guys, my roommate gave me a brilliant idea. So tonight was stir-fry night at one of the halls, and so we all got fortune cookies. Well, when we got back to the room, my roommate said something about using a fortune from a fortune cookie as a prompt. I like, jumped on Word to write this so that I wouldn’t forget.

I know that I did a contest a month ago, and I know that it took a long time to get completed, but I think this one will get done faster because I’ll be the only judge.
Also, I’ll have three fortunes that I’ve personally gotten, well, two’re mine and one’s my roommates, but you can choose one of the three to base your story around.

RULES
Spoiler:
  1. STAY AWAY FROM CLICHÉS.
  2. I will be judging how clichéd your story is, how well you use grammar and punctuation, and the amount of imagery you use. I like imagery.

The prompts themselves are a tad clichéd, but hey, they come from fortune cookies. What can you expect? Plus, this could be a great exercise for anyone that wants to try and deviate from the cliché-ness that everyone seems to have. For the most part, at least.

I will give a very in-depth critique to the winner. Yes, it’s not a lot, but it’s better than nothing. I can’t afford real prizes. So just get over it.

Anyways, that’s all I have for now. Hopefully I have more entries this time than the meager, but well done four from the last contest.

PROMPTS:
Spoiler:

  • You will be reunited with an old friend
  • A new relationship is about to blossom. You will be blessed.
  • You will make many changes before settling down happily.
Like I said, you choose one of the prompts to go with. They suck. Your story shouldn't.

PARTICIPANTS:
Spoiler:
Amour
Im-All-For-Believing
Simmi
Fiction

AN EDIT:
I'm thinking that I'll have the deadline set for March 13th, which is when I get out for spring break.
ALSO: Both Poetry AND Prose is accepted. (Know that I'll be more likely to understand the prose. -.-)

Indeed they are, my dear. But that makes it all the more fun to "un-cliché" them I'm gonna sign up for this, and I really hope other people do too. We need more competitive nature around here.

But... yeaaaahhh. Throw my name on the participants list anyway Tsuks.

Tsuks this is really sucky but I can't do this competition. I thought I'd be able to, but school's gotten super hectic since I got back from mid-term, and I've barely got time to get online, let alone write something decent. I'm really really sorry

Is it too late to enter? Because I'm always up for a challenge, though my attempt would be dreadful.
