I don't know much about this site since I only joined today but possibly some more writing contests throughout the year and different times. The prizes wouldn't have to be money or anything, maybe you could have a special status for contest winners.

We do do a lot of contests throughout the year - at the begining of the summer we had a Writing Olympics, and the YWA (see tab at the top) ends today, and there are usually other contests through the autumn/winter/spring.

It should be noted that the YWA will be annual, provided funds stay steady (ask me how you all can help with that), and I would love to run more contests with prizes on the site in the future (free books, mostly likely).

I think that you should be able to subscribe to things you don't post in. Someone may just wan't to know what is going on in the thread even if they didn't write anything in it… If that makes sense...
