Block Distracting Websites!

LeechBlock for Firefox

What is it?

An addon for Firefox that lets you block certain websites during certain times of the day. OR you can limit the time spent on any one website to ---- minutes.

I'm going to use this for the times when I should be working on my story. Tested it, and it works. No Facebook, no Youtube.

I'm against this if it's being used to blog YWO. Other writing sites, okay, but not us. Respect us for being awesome.

I respect YWO for being so awesome it makes procastinate longer than any other website.

I am equally blocking all writing sites I frequent. So don't bother protesting ... it's not like I'm blocking YWO, but not TW. (You should also protest if I block TW, but not YWO, but I guess we're not supposed to be big on equal site rights.)

The blocking worked very well, except for the five minutes when I disabled it to hunt for a link to Guessed's logo. I've finished all my homework, and today I shall go to bed two hours early.

Because it frees up your time for writing.

You know there's an option to prevent you from changing its preferences during the blocked time period, right?

Yes, but I don't think I'm going to use that unless I start abusing the LeechBlock as though it doesn't exist. I had a legitimate reason to move the block, because I had finished all my homework, and I wanted to do something that helped the site.

And thanks to me, Guessed touched up the logo! With some beautiful green font, I might add.

I'm banning several sites from 3-6 AM and 9AM - 8PM. Wikipedia, and also several other sites.

Shaun and I blocked nearly the whole internet

anything that ended in .com .net or .org

mine was from 7PM to 9PM and 12AM to 6 AM

It also causes the chatroom to freeze anyway, so it's a bit futile to attempt to log in while I'm at his place.
