Do you have any special tips for how to survive NaNo and/or prepare for it? If so, share them here!

Mine is this: Make a huge document with a chapter-by-chapter plot, description of the plot, description of the characters, etc. This way, when NaNo comes, you'll more or less know everything you're going to write, so it won't be as hard to tackle.

I like to know as much as I can before leaping in. Then I make myself write. That's all there is to it, really.

I'm still torn. I'm either going to power forward with my current story, which has everything but a cohesive first draft or I'm going to start writing lots of words and see if a new story appears. Possibly I'll jump between the two, maybe.
Definitely let me know if you'd like a critique--- I'd love to.
