Hello Everyone,

My name is Sue Simmons and I am new to Young Writers Online. A few things about myself is that I consider myself a creative writer. It's just fancy talk for "I'll write anything". I love writing music and short stories the most, but I hope to write a fictional novel in the future (favorite genre, horror) I just have to think of something. I've never written a script, or play but I wouldn't rule it out!

I have an online web site/store named it-trigued-dot-com that promotes authors as well as musicians, photographers, artist, and those in film/animation. I also have a short story entitled "Glitch" available on my site and I will post my excerpt on this site in case anyone's interested!

I also love to read and just discovered this site so I am very much so interested in other authors!

Film-The Exorcist. That has got to be the best movie I have ever seen! I love it!

Literature-Though many may not consider this too scary, I thought it was pretty creepy. The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. I just think it's so cool.

Also, there was one book I read when I was younger entitled "Don't Open This Book" (I'll have to look up the author of the story that is my favorite). The very last short story in the book was about a woman, capable of reading minds, hearing her husband descend into insanity. I don't want to tell you everything, but I found it pretty scary because it's a psychological thriller that could happen to anyone if they trick themselves into it.

What about you?

Nice!
Sadly I'm yet to watch the exorcist ( I feel like I'm missing out on so much), as I have a huge backlog of horror movies to work through, but I am a pretty massive fan of Stephen King in terms of literature.
I also really enjoyed the Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. Have you read one of his other stories, the Tell Tale Heart?
Any other favorite horror movies? I personally really enjoyed The Babadook, and have a huge love for any of the Insidious movies.

I cannot wait for you to see the Exorcist! Horror. Classic!

I am the same way as you. Many of the horror movies everyone speaks of in high volumes I have yet to see. For example, I have not seen the original Carrie (I seen the newer version though), Rosemary's Baby (I have not seen the ending yet), The Shining, and I hear great things about the Insidious series, but I've yet to see it.

Other horror movies I love include Evil Dead, Hostel, Final Destination series (even when they got a bit goofy), From Dusk TIl Dawn, the new-ish Fright Night, and there are a few more but I cannot think of them at the moment because I've seen quite a bit of horror films .
I never seen the Babadook. I'll have to give that a try!

I have read the Telltale Heart by Edgar, and it leads me to wonder if he often feels haunted? Just because some of his work pertain to something stalking or pursuing him with intensity...Hmm...
