Hello to all!

In case some of you are in confusion as to what this thread is about, just check out the Lyric Writing Contest that ended just yesterday!

I have picked the best three out of all the lyrics that were posted in the contest, and they are up above for all members of YWO to vote on.

The poll up above will close in exactly a month from today, so please vote with free will while you have the chance!! When the poll has closed, possibly on that very day or the next I will announce the winner and they shall recieve a critique and a thank point from me on anything of theirs. But remember, you have to vote in order help this thing along so there can be a winner!

I've posted all three sets of lyrics in this thread for all to view, and choose to their own opinions and desires.
And now, here is the first set of lyrics that I have chosen to go into the poll up above.

Another Town by Zombified

Spoiler:

Well my mama she came to me, said be the best that you can be
And she smiled and looked at me, took my hand said go be free
All the days and all the nights wont mean a thing if you don't try
Don't waste time don't try to fight, the winds of change are right behind

(Chorus)

But there's gotta be something else
Far from here, far from here
Yeah there's gotta be something else, far from here, far from here
Gonna get lost in another town, another town, another town
Gonna find truth in another town, another town, another town, another town.

Well the sun will rise again and the moon will be there 'til the end
Trust the stars and trust the skies, they won't tell you any lies
If you feel quite out of place, pack your bags and head for space
You can run but you can't hide, we've all got such little time

(Chorus)

On a ship or on a plane, the ghost of you remains the same
Somewhere deep inside your brain, the answers tumble down the drain
Just remember everyday, you don't have to be afraid
Change the world or change your life, it's up to you now in your mind

Here is the second set!

Cartography by Charlie

Spoiler:

Sunlight on motes of dust,
legs ache, canít carry us,
not going anywhere
want this room to be our home,
want our lives to be our own.

Thereís a mirror on the wardrobe door,
reflects us in the tangled sheets:
my head on your chest,
your shirt at my feet.

A world outside of roads and maps,
I prefer to trace your lines and scars,
want to travel your life first,
want to cross paths and fingers,
want this world to be our own

want to watch it fold.

All I need is a bit more time
to map this room
to network the lines on your palm,
the threads of your veins.

I could map the traces of your kisses
from my hips to my throat,
weíve crossed each otherís borders,
hiding treasure in our chests.

Blue lines lead to your heart -
bleed red but we donít stop.
All rivers lead to the sea;
the cuts and scrapes of our lives
I want to sink in your oceans,
I want to walk all your lines,
leave footprints on your shores,
your body around mine;
the tide against my spine -

grant me access to your land,
sift through sand to find my bones.

And last but not least, the third set!

Roads by Han123

Spoiler:

1st verse
Whereís our road?
We used to walk it everyday
We could keep on going
Save our hope for another day

But our days are bleeding
There greying way too fast
So hold me tight now
I donít want to be the last

Whiles tears are drying
Memories are going frail
Were slowly fading
Time to set the sails

Away from here
Away from here
Life moves on
Away from here
Away from home
We go back to where were from

Pre-Chorus
Is it just me can you not see thereís no light
When will you go, when will you know
Were slowly dying

Chorus
Thereís no light in my eyes today
Whereís it gone, why the sorrow
I try to smile keep my head up high
Buts itís hard when I know thereís no tomorrow
Weíll keep on walking till we hit the end
Climb heavens stairs, letís not pretend
So hold me please
I donít want to leave you now
I donít want to leave you now

2nd verse
Where are the smiles?
I used to see them all the time
Now Iím just a broken stone
Tumbling out of sight

Thereís nothing to hold on to
No right way to go
So Iíll keep dreaming
Of the place Iíve always know

Whiles Iím still here
Iíve only got another minute left
Itís time I leave you
Youíve got to learn to rest

Weíre falling
Weíre falling down
Thereís no way out
Weíre falling
Weíre falling now
Forever below the clouds

Pre-Chorus
Chorus

So, congratulations to those who've made it into my top three! And I'd also like to thank those who did join in this contest all of you did really good beyond what I actually expected. But now, all I need is your votes! Every member of YWO can vote, so may I encourage you to do so today, and the best wishes to all!
