Hello!

Sometimes, when we are writing, we are stumped for words. I find it useful to write down words I like or words I come across that I have never heard of before! I suggest you guys try it if you aren't already. Below are my favourite words and you guys can post yours in this thread!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.) Warp - to put out of shape.

2.) Autocratic - selfish, pride, rule people. [

3.) Preternatural - mystical.

4.) Monosyllabically- speaking in words of one syllable.

5.) paraphernalia - things one would take on an expedition (I like to say it instead of 'stuff - don't know if that is a correct use of the word though.')

6.) Bombastic - very loud.

7.) Fulminate - to explode with noise and violence (It sounds like a nice word, but it means something not so nice!)

8.) Crampon- spikes on shoes/climbing boots. ]

9.) Crimp- press together two surfaces to make a crinkly edge (e.g. metal/pastries, also to cut hair.)

10.) Carmine - a vivid red colour.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you enjoyed reading these and they have inspired/help you!

Happy writing!

Alexander

This section of the forum is for making suggestions or giving feedback about Young Writers Online. You probably want the Writing Q&A section. Please pay more careful attention to how this forum is organized.

No, don't worry about making another thread. A mod will move it if they really have a problem with it.

Maybe if you're finding the site difficult to understand you should give it some time before posting a new thread? Post in existing threads, get used to everything, make some friends, until you're comfortable?
