Thanks to everyone who suggested work for the spotlight, especially Squint and sbenzing. If you post a different type of work than is shown here, it's still eligable for future monthly spotlights - I've got my eye out for great artwork, other writing, and pieces posted in both the prose and poem threadboxes. I'm still looking for help with the spotlight, so if you want to claim a forum and start looking for January's best pieces, please let me know.

December was another bustling month for good work; these stories and poems are all worth reading. Let the authors know what you liked, and maybe leave a critique or two in the original threads (if it's in a threadbox, PM the author). Some of these pieces could use a little extra love and attention.

Short Stories

Reaching the summit of Garbage Mountain by Julian

The Axe by GoodGracious

Cheer up, Cheerily by katielfoster93

The Jones Brothers by rockyteh97

Novels

YLSP by MaroonBack313. You can start with the Prologue or jump to Chapter 15, the December installment that caught the attention of suggesters.

Teenage Dirtbags by mpenguinn

Poetry

21 snapshots of love by hippo

beta physics by the heater lady

acida by asclepia acida

to e.e. cummings by bookworm

Miscellany

Home Sweet Home [The Village] by princess snowwhite

An exchange of intimacies by Squint

You're very welcome. It was well deserved I believe. I know I already told you what I think of the piece, buy it was amazing. I guess this is for anyone who is lame enough to have not read it already. READ IT.

Now go enjoy yourself all you great writers. Especially you squint.

I feel left out. Like the kid who doesn't get invited to the parties. (which is me irl too).

Good job all you party people. A lot of it was really good. 21 snapshots of love ranks amongst the best stuff I have read hunched over a monitor. ever. it was THAT good.
