No offense to people who like Death Metal or any kind of Metal at all, but I simply do not understand how people can even have a likeing for the stuff, there is absoloutly no melody, even the lyrics don't seem very lyrical at all and they don't seem to have any expansion on their vocals. Just imagine banging your spoon on the table for hours on end. Its the same beat over and over, there is no fluctuation in the melody, it sounds like people are growling like lions in a monotone and stumming one cord on the guitar and pounding on drums. They sound like Gorillas and Apes who don't have an ear for sound or melody. Just my thoughts on the whole thing.

Five out of several hundred bands that defy your criteria, so long as we're talking about all of metal. There are even subgenres of death metal that are devoted to being more melodic than the majority of the genre.

The first song you gave me, I listened quiet closely to it and the only thing that I found different from other things I'v heard is the drums. It seemed to have a little more to it. But the growling drove me out of my mind, I was actually trying to imagine myself growling like that to one of my songs or another persons. That was my pet peeve about this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpsmBbkJP-c
The second video amazed me. It didn't even sound like metal, I mean I could hear metallic traits in the background, but it was faarrrr different compared to some other things that I'v heard from my lifetime. The vocals were amazing and had a wonderfulness about them, and he actually played the guitar like a human being, not like a Gorilla with one chord.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IORf2hZilUQ
The third video I didn't really care for so much, I mean the vocals were alright, but it didn't impress me to much, not like the second one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNBes8H2L3g
The beginning was good on this one, it started out mysterical and like something I might consider listening to and then it went into the heavy parts with some growling which was fairly tame but I still didn't care for it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIHV9YNCdRk
This one was a lot easier on the ears, and it had a flow to it that wasn't so annoying, and it even seemed like one of those kind of songs that might inspire some to write. It was easy going and something that didn't bother me. Is that a girl singing in this song? Just wondering.

Hey, I didn't realize I was critiqueing music. The second and fifth videos I would listen to again if I wanted to just for pleasure, but the rest is a no-no for me. I'm about to go and watch the second video again! I liked it that much.

All of that is metal, and that's only five bands of many. The first one I obviously didn't think you'd love, but really, there is plenty of melody in that song. Amon Amarth has never written anything unmelodic. Power metal (the second video) is probably one of the purer genres out there, as it stems directly from traditional heavy metal that came about in the 60's and 70's.

And yes, that last video has a girl singing.

Do you have enough time to listen this music, guys, I wonder?
I'd rather I have, but I'm to pass my English exam that I didn't vouchsafe to go through with in May.
Your language is wonderful and I love it so much, but my teacher is inclined to nudge me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td6xx2Ld8Mo

Lyrics:
Although the world would call me free
Each day the more her slave am I
For in her very way to be
I don't know what, I don't know why

Already from the day we met
Was my freedom mortal shot
She's but a girl as they, and yet
There's something more, I don't know what
I don't know what

No matter what we speak or do
The moments in sweet silence fly
For somehow there is music, too
When she is mute, I don't know why

So likely to my dying day
To follow her will be my lot
For in her sweet and candid way
There's I don't know why
I don't know what

Let's compare this to non-metal. Beyonce. She's popular. Here's some random song and a part of lyrics:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQ2cOmJya6w

"Aah oh my baby's fly baby oh
Yes no hurt me so good baby oh
I'm so wrapped up in your love let me go
Let me breathe stay out my fantasies

Ya ready gimme da ting dat ya ready get ya live
And tell me all about da tings that you will fantasize
I know you dig da way me step da way me make my stride
Follow your feelings baby girl b/c they cannot be denied
Come check me in-a night and make we get it amplified
Me have da ting to run da ship cause I'm go slip and I'm go slide
And in the words of love I got ta get it certified
But I give you da toughest longest kinda ride girl"

Personally, I would have chosen, say, Thousand Years of Oppresion perhaps. Or Ride to Vengeance. But then the Christians would be all like "Yo, don't be dissin' mah religion!" n shit

Just kidding.

Seriously, though, Ride to Vengeance is one of the saddest (and, incidentally, despair-iest and angriest and... well awesomest) songs I've ever heard!

Also, this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKT2IDFElow has saxophone in it and saxophones aren't evil, therefore metal isn't evil. I rest my case.

I honestly just picked one of the first ones that came up when I searched Amon Amarth. War of the Gods would've been my top choice.

Syn, I listened to both of the songs that you have given me, and if I had to pick, I would have picked the metal. I'm not into Beyonce although she has a powerful voice sometimes, but that being beside the fact, the metal that you gave me to listen to was very tame and calmer compared to other things that I have heard. I take the metal over beyonce and her rapper.

No, metal is not evil, as no music is, but I just don't really understand how people can even care for it. All of us are entitled to like what ever we want, but I can't help but wonder.

I wonder which song fits your description better....
And here is how I am going to answer that question. The metal is what fits my description best. I have heard other kinds of metal that is simply horrible. Although I am going to make my case against Beyonce. The song that you posted of hers is simply annoying. and also the person whatever his face is...Sean, he sounds like he is talking in the song, and he is distracting. I have never liked beyonces music in the first place, but this song is especially not my favorite.

So I suppose the point would be not to judge a whole group by a couple of individuals or sub-groups. Don't be racist. That's how bad things in the world happen.
