After preparing to take the AP tests, where you must write a page or two well-written essay in forty-five minutes, I am quite good at getting my ideas out legibly and fast handwritten, whereas I'm forever making typos on the computer. So generally I prefer handwriting the very initial stages of stuff, like plot or the first scenes that pop into my head. Then when I'm ready to actually make it a story I pull it onto the computer.

The biggest advantage to handwriting for me is I don't have to write left to right, top down. I can make arrows and spin my paper around and write comments and circle things very easily. It's a great way to brainstorm, because I see my ideas best when they're all squished together on one sheet of paper that mimics the way they appear in my head. It's much more direct, if less practical.

i prefer typing because
1: if i have an idea and i need to change it or cross it out or whatever, anything really, i can just backspace, simple.
2: its a lot faster

ohthough i like to type instead, i still hand write, just so i dont get messy hand writing

Earlier I hated writing. This constant corn on the middle finger really annoyed me. But now, after typing so much I do like to write something down, improving my hand writing and making it more and more personal. I've got used to concider this process like some kind of tradition.

I prefer to hand write for my first draft then translate it into typing. Handwriting helps me put my thoughts into order more quickly and helps me when I want to get stuff down that's going through my head a mile-a-minute.
