I'm not going to bother with the explanation. Make it happen.

This thread was all bare and cob-webby, so I whipped this up for it.

-

Your peppered skin like stained coffee rag and rough like the oldest earth
Glares across the timeless shadow, eyes drenched in angelic mirth
But with all the pain and guilt I feel I cut your gold locks in scorn
And ask the night if it’s me or him that’s insane

Look past the mountain caramel and over your chosen path
Taunt the scholars and the scribes, warped with fickle math
And light your flesh like energy in a cyan liquid flow
‘cause to feel or see in clarity is insane

Tomorrow is my friend though I don’t think I’ll see her again
She scored the lines of endless toil with a blotched electric pen
And when she did she sealed her fate with a golden lace rose tie
But is it you or me or him or she that’s insane?

I wrote that at 1 a.m. in the morning, so, shush. xD

-

Spoiler:
We started with rain - grey,
hair, like ashes
plastered against our heads -
and you drew for me the heavy lungs
of a valley, filling and swelling
with H2O, where you had dived,
pulled sideways by current, trying
to touch the rough river's ground,
and had broken through the surface
with only silt in your blind eyes,
drowning in the violet water -
a story your mother told you
about those lads -
the river hugged too tightly.

Opposite 'The Rose and Crown'
the traffic holds its breath for you,
and we dodge through cars, drivers
gaping against their tinted glass.
You talk of miracles in the everyday;
the euphoria of an open window,
sunshine unsettling dust across the floor
and the car headlamps flash
across your own small miracle,
the half-way mark on your neck
still bruised with something like luck.

We started with rain,
but then you tell me that
the only thing you've ever wanted
is to make love in a thunderstorm,
watch the clouds crowding in.
The night jostles against my skin,
warning me to assess.
Traffic, with nothing to stay for,
moves on. I am left
to walk the tightrope of your smile
not alone
but by myself.

Night throws tantrums
on September leaves.
A gushing rustling
like the widow breathes.

Just like a swallow
dead in the snow.
like the sobbing child;
can't let it go (let it go)

I got used to breathin
I got used to sin
no bible for my dribble
I spit into the wind

And you say the winter
is coming for your throat
but your trembling like a child
beneath your winter coat

scraps of paper
that escaped the ash
came apart in water
flight will never last

and rusty eyelids
provide a safer view
until the violets
grow over you (we'll grow there too)

I
By the candlelight I can hear you calling my name
I can hear you calling my name
By the Paris light, can you see me talking to you?
Can you see me talking to you?

I donít agree with what youíre saying
But Iíll fight to the death for your right to say it
Voltaire, Voltaire
Speak clean to me
Voltaire, Voltaire
Pour out your soul for me

Over static fuzz I could see your face on the TV screen
It was smiling sweetly at me
Over white noise, I can hear you howling at me
I can hear you howling at me

I donít agree with what youíre saying
But Iíll fight to the death for your right to say it
Voltaire, Voltaire
Speak clean to me
Voltaire, Voltaire
Pour out your soul for me

II
Voltaire did you do a thing?
Voltaire did you say a thing?
When the sky gave way and we all fell through the clouds

Voltaire did you prophesise?
Voltaire did you send a sign
When the floor fell through and we all sank into the fire?

Voltaire, Voltaire

Voltaire, oh God of men!
Voltaire, oh God of men!
I etched your name in my chest but it didnít do a thing

Voltaire, wonít you tell me why?
Voltaire, can you tell me why?
I built a pyramid for you but you still didnít come

Voltaire, Voltaire

III
Move the light away from your eyes
Thereís a better way to start
They carved you out of foul mortar
And spray painted you a heart
Canít you see they put you on a pedestal?
Canít you see they put you on a pedestal?

Speak kind words of reassurance
Weíll scribe them on paper made of gold
With a blotched electric pen
And in a language centrefold
But that really doesnít matter
No that really doesnít matter

When itís you it doesnít matter
What is real and what is not
Just as long as you are here with me
Just as long as you are here with me
Dressed in red robes and drenched in flowers
Dressed in red robes and drenched in flowers

For the first time I can see the weakness in you
Your skeleton is clearly in view
For the first time I can see the weakness in you
I can see the weakness in you

Good times, she wrote about
The setting sun, she saw it in my eyes
The 4th of July
She kissed me on the mouth

It was my birthday, on April 23rd
She couldn’t afford much
So she made me a birthday card
Out of pasta and lace
It was the best gift, I ever got

November, the fifteenth
She talked about, ending everything
The lines of the sketching bad
Stark against the white

And her words like a gentle
Cardiograph record written across the page
She watched me from the beach
Read her final entry
It was written to me

“Life’s too short to hang about
Chasing dreams is what it’s all about
And if you die doing it
at least you died happy”

She hung herself late that night
Guess she couldn’t take her own advice
And I died too that night
At least, that’s the way it seems

Oh shit free style rap here we go, no stopping typing, nothing rehearsed, starting now.

Droppin abstract verse
and you sound rehearsed
but my lyrics are raw
leaving you in a hearst

You say you're the worst
and perhaps at first
you had an angry face
their fear had a case

but when I came on the scene
clear their eyes like visine
and tell them you were nothing
your persona, a dream

Yes I rhyme to cause commotion
some say its my devotion
causing anarchy among nihilists
getting catholic girls to come try a hit

never stuttered a letter
never held back a breath
only dropped a few bombs
to leave a whole in your chest

chest, chest

and when I'm finished
put both hands over your breast
like a dead green soldier
I'll put your soft mind to rest

Did you ever lose your favourite bear?
Or did you ever hear a teacher swear?
Well problems were so much simpler
Back when we were younger

Did you ever think that you could fly?
Have you ever thought that youíre clever?
Or however good you are at something
That thereís always someone better?

If good things come to those who wait
How long must I wait for you?

Leave the capitalists and their mountains of matter
Leave the communists on their cardboard pedestals
Leave the optimists in their rays of fake sunshine
Leave the nihilists in their darkened bedrooms

Ďcause none of it will matter when weíre together
If good things come to those who wait
How long must I wait for you?

Do you still dust the photos on your mantelpiece at home?
Do you still put your tie on when you are all alone?
It seems to me you’ve hard a hard time
It seems to me you’ve had a hard time letting go

Do you still make the coffee in the morning for two people?
Do you still check in the morning for the sports scores?
It seems to me you’ve had a hard time
It seems to me you’ve had a hard time letting go

Well don’t worry ‘bout it ‘cause there’s nothing I can’t say
To help make the bad times go away
We’ve all had our share of feeling sick
From all these random acts of vanishing
You’re not the only one that’s had a hard time
I too have found it real hard t’ get by
I’ve found it real hard
I’ve found it real hard letting go

Do you still go out sometimes looking for him or her?
--like they’re just ‘round the corner and their waiting for dinner
I know how hard it can be sometimes
Sometimes I find it helps just to cry

Is it easier for you to put out his clothes in the morning?
I bet you sit sometimes just looking through his things
Well I did that once too
I found it didn’t help me to get through

Well don’t worry ‘bout it ‘cause there’s nothing I can’t say
To help make the bad times go away
We’ve all had our share of feeling sick
From all these random acts of vanishing
You’re not the only one that’s had a hard time
I’ve to have found it real hard getting by
I’ve found it real hard
I’ve found it real hard letting go

So this is an ode to those who’ve lost someone dear
Just know that there is someone like you near
And that you’re not in it all alone
And that in a few clicks of the phone
You can be talking to someone
That loves you despite all the things you have done
Maybe somehow that’ll help you
Maybe that’ll help you to let go

What ever happened to your family Christmas story?
I was kind of looking forward to finding out my character
But now the leaves speak of better times
When the wind was blowing faulty echo mimes
And your hairís glowing like cardi lace
Like a twisted halo moving at an Angelís pace
And itís hard, I know, that itís hard
I know, itís hard, I know
Haphazard lighting splitting shadowed streets
I swear I saw you standing next to me
And I know that you felt it too
Sitting in your 20,000 dollar room
And itís hard, I know, itís hard
Itís hard, I know, itís hard
