I'm going to write some unfinished thoughts and I challenge anyone who wants to finish them to do so. You could make them a poem, song, or turn it into a story, etc. Whatever your heart desires. Or even just simply finish them off.

I've not been...
Even though these things are...
Balance isn't...
We try too hard to...
Water and fire...
...don't you think we should try?
If there was ever ... I wouldn't...
The apocalypse...
...colors are...
...maybe I need...
White isn't a color, but...
...blinked rapidly... eyes wide open...
Don't we need... or is that... maybe I'm...

And that's all I feel like typing!

very cool idea, I'm into it

Balance isn't what I thought of
that night in Saskatoon, snow scolding the spring blooms,
covering them, wholly, utterly, like a blessing.

It isn't what I thought of when the elk padded softly
by the side of the road, dragging their young behind them,
as if expectant of the awe we saved for them.

It wasn't even the trail of blackberry bushes,
symmetrical and linked to one another as if by blood,
or the haunting yellow sky that gave way to night.

Balance isn't what I thought of
when your eyes shifted to stone, when your body reduced
into smallness, relaxing, loosening, forgetting its bone.

Here are a few I came up with too, (and have used before) if that's cool:
  • By the river ...
  • I am looking for ...
  • The clouds are resting ...
  • For my poetry, I steal ...
  • Becoming the rain ...
  • A man reads Kafka ...
  • I remember the stars ...

Lets see how good I am at this.

By the river ...
I am looking for ...
The clouds are resting ...
For my poetry, I steal ...
Becoming the rain ...
A man reads Kafka ...
I remember the stars ...

By the river I stand, watching the water.
I'm looking for the moon, and now I'v caught her.

I'm seeking for peace to soothe my bent world,
The clouds are resting within themselves, and shining my pearl.

For my peotry, I steal thoughts and pain.
They are solid, with the best ink stain.

Becoming the rain is a dream, without the tears.
I will pour into hearts, but leave behind the fears.

As a man reads Kafka, I'm beside my only being,
feelings draped inside without seeing.

I remember the stars, and the river.
and the past of a forgotton sister.

Sorry that this is so bad, but I tried.

Here's some more for the next person:

~ Glory without the shame....
~ Love is in a standstill....
~ No matter the air that you breathe....
~ Smiles bury the heart...
~ Red stained windows, are red no more...
~ Amazing inspiration comes from....

Smiles will bury your heart, and tears will drown it.
I want my heart to be as open as Frank O'Hara's,
like a rock exposed to the weather,
like a heathen in a cathedral,
all ruddy with awe.

The windows which were stained red are red no longer.
Love is at a standstill, and the judgement later.
Now there is only glory; and the air humming
into your heart through your lungs comes from the open.

How the train could not arrive that afternoon,
hugged by thick stalks of smoke, flanked by towering azaleas
in the burnt sky.

I heard the bees hissing from within;
outside, the rocks lost their shape, becoming wide pools of ink
as momentum pushed us forward.
And with it, I vanished like autumnís stare
on the cusp of winter, released myself from its noise.

..... How the train could not arrive that afternoon,
..... and how I could not arrive with it.

Not to continue posting without poetry, but I think it'd be fine to use any of the thoughts posted already. I had just given a few for fun in my other posts.

Yes, exactly. It isn't necessary for others to give more, but it's perfectly fine.

But I want new thoughts and so I'll give you some

your last Kleenex
...and fitted jackets
put me away, destroy me in a hurry
it would need to rain
rimstone dams
Patricia, Caroline, Linda, Thelma and Bea
you are dishonest
