Hey, guys! Anna here. I wrote this poem on a whim, just letting the words flow out of me. I hope you like this! Please let me know what you think of it. (Be nice! )

A splintering of coal dust scrapes the sky,

Quickly blown away by a winterlie.

A mountain reaches, but in vain,

Trying to grow tall so it won't see the pain

Of the many people in the world.

A butterfly climbs out of a case, wings unfurled,

To land on the finger of a laughing child,

Who, from many lonely days, has grown wild.

He eats wild berries, across the stream, where he drinks with moss on his chin.

Oh, what a wonderful world he's in!

The white moon hangs, suspended,

As if from a thin black string he's lended.

With stars for company, he is content

Wanting for nothing, not even a cent.

An abandoned city stands in the dust,

Not a thing left, not even a crust.

This is a strange and most ancient city,

That was filled with many people you would not pity.

A brown doe nearby utters only a whisper,

Dreaming of the times of fresh grass and her sister.

And then the story blows away on the cool breeze,

Over valleys and houses and meadows and seas.

Lovely Lioness
