I was thinking, maybe the site should have a place on your user profile that lets you type up drafts and stuff. Like a notepad or something. I think that'll be good, because this is a writing website, and this way we could work on our writing pieces and then save them on the website. That way, also, if someone's computer crashes or something and they lose the draft on Word (or whatever they use) they can get the draft back from this site.

There is such a feature. Like on the User CP button and it should come up.

That has a 2,000 character limit, I think. What he's talking about sounds like it would need more space than that.

Do you mean somewhere to house your drafts on the site while you're working on them?

I like the idea, yet, I don't own my own computer. I pretty much save my drafts in my mail box. Ha, cell phones have really gone up there huh?

I think it's better to back up your story files in multiple places other than YWO. Not that I don't trust the site or anything, but just don't start blaming anybody should it ever crash.

Yeah, I meant something for any type of story. Including like novel-length stuff. And I'm not saying people should only save their stuff on YWO, but it would pretty useful. Make copies and save it other places too, but it seems to me like this would be really convenient. Especially if you want to work on your story somewhere other than your computer, you can just go here and open the draft whereas otherwise you wouldn't be able to unless you had it on a flash drive or semothing.

Try Google Docs? It can save documents and things, and you could sign in to it from any computer. There's no character limit.

Yeah, it does do that for sure, but I think folks want something like that attached to YWO. I wonder if there's a way to simply attach Google Docs to the site. I'll talk to Andy about it.
