Well this is a contest for all of you. I put up my first small little karaoke song on Youtube and, well I'll explain later, but anyways I've put up the video and the contest will go as follows.


You will sign up here, then you will go on Youtube and, using the background of my music, will sing the song and upload it as a video reply to it. I will then listen to everyone and announce here, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Then I will keep uploading New Songs ( I will listen to requests :)) and start a new round, this is really just for fun, so don't worry about being American Idol or anything, this is just so people can hear you, and so everyone can have fun, I mean who doesn't like Karaoke right?


Well hopefully people will enjoy this, remember, it doesn't matter what song it is, or who sings it (boy or girl) you can do it to :) Just try, this will be fun :)

umm... the song will be disclosed once people sign up for the round, if that doesn't work then I'll start to tell everyone before they sign up.

and as for the youtube video... well you could just actually record yourself, and send me the file over Yahoo/MSN/ ETC...

I know Midnight, I wouldn't expect many to know the song at all, that's what makes this first round a little more challenging from the rest, after this, people can recommend a song, but for now you have to listen to the actual song (Not my Vid... just look up My Friends on Youtube :) ) and try to learn the rhythm.

Sorry for the double post but I have to give the links now.

Here is the first round of the Karaoke contest. People may enter at any time that they choose (until the round ends of course) and they may choose any of the songs on this list.
The theme for this round is Sweeney Todd but since most people have never heard it I've included two other songs in there as well.

Rules:
1.Play the karaoke version on your computer and record it with you singing along. (If you have problems recording, PM me and I'll try to help you I.E find you a free software that will do it, or something like that)
2. Save that file and send it to me through E-Mail or whatever is most convenient. Uploading to youtube not necessary, and no longer recommended :)
3. I will judge them upon receiving and secretly score them. Once I feel all people have given their songs I will announce the winner.
4. Have fun.

I'd love to sing Still Alive - never played Portal, but I am getting into Half Life.

Still, my microphone would end up giving me a WAV that sounds like gravel in a gravel-crushing sort of thing. And that's only if I hold it in JUST the right position - otherwise it won't work at all.

No deadline, and that's ok, I'm expecting most of the audio to sound WAV like :) I tried it and mine came out like that too :) No one needs expensive equipment or hollywood quality :P

Ooh, the accent actually is pretty good! And I was very much reminded of the movie, if only because I just watched it on Sunday.

My girlfriend has promised to do a recording of Still Alive, complete with voice harmonies. She also wants to find some program that can make her sound more machine-like, but I don't think we're going to bother with that.

My girlfriend wants to apologize ahead of time for the low volume. She lost the file twice when she was almost done, and then finally switched programs. Then it was harder to edit in the harmonies, and by then she had worked for hours straight and was quite bored. So it's not entirely coordinated, but I hope to convince her to make a better version some day.
