So, we had this on TW. Why not here? :) Plus, I've never heard Shaun talk, so that's why I posted this, really. As before, we shall use zShare (http://www.zshare.net/). I cannot recall the other one Andrew mentioned. So, post away! I don't think it'll fill up quick, due to us not having many members so far.

Apology accepted, because there was really no need for an apology in the first place. This will likely become a fun thread. Besides, the more threads, the better, at this point.

Crud, my file at TW got deleted because nobody listened to it for 60 days. :( I'll re-upload it soon.

I also want to hear Shaun talk. Supposedly his voice isn't deep at all.

I would so do this, but I don't have a mic or anything, sorry y'all. I want to hear y'all though so talk on :D.

If you use a laptop, then it should have a hidden microphone. If it has the "Sound Recorder" program (if you're using Microsoft), then if you use that, it should record. It took me a while to find that.

jordanisonfire
10-09-2007, 12:25 PM
Right, I've posted Me.

Tncowgirl

So where would this mic be, i can't find it :'(

Shaun
10-12-2007, 08:32 PM
I plan to do this, just give me some time. I've been hella busy writing and going to school. You guys should see the list of stuff I got to read this weekend :D

jordanisonfire
10-12-2007, 08:59 PM
Gooooood. No one's commented on my post yet.

Tncowgirl
10-12-2007, 09:04 PM
I'm still trying to figure out what the music is. With it playing I didn't notice your accent at first, then when I listened more closly it sounds like your from England, are you?

jordanisonfire
10-12-2007, 09:06 PM
Wow, the first person to ever say I have a pure English accent. :)

Tncowgirl
10-12-2007, 09:43 PM
Well its true, are you from there?

jordanisonfire
10-12-2007, 09:54 PM
Yep, sure am. Hence my location.

Ichigo
10-13-2007, 07:14 PM
I wish I lived in England....
Well I have a mic, but I don't know how to use it so I'll ask my brother. But I have a really freaky high pitched voice.

Nyx
10-28-2007, 02:42 AM
Hm..same here I have a mic, no idea how to use it. I'll ask my sister though...
Ichigo I bet my voice is more high pitched than yours!

Carraka
10-28-2007, 03:01 AM
My voice is low-pitched. I'm told that it sounds sarcastic, but I'm never, ever sarcastic. I assure you.

One of these days, I'll post myself singing. Or playing the piano. One of these days.

jordanisonfire
10-28-2007, 09:41 AM
My voice sounds quite high-pitched... as you can hear from my recording.

Nyx
10-28-2007, 08:19 PM
hm.. your voice doesn't sound very high-pitched to me...:)

jordanisonfire
10-28-2007, 10:22 PM
Thanks. :) I feel like a loser, though. I'm the only one who's posted, so it looks like everyone thinks that this is a stupid idea. On TW, the first reply had a recording in. Then they just flooded in. Either it's because TW has more members, TW has more members who have microphone/know how to use one or the members on this site are too damn lazy to do it. :P

Carraka
10-28-2007, 11:32 PM
I don't think it's high-pitched. But I can't understand a single thing you say, because there's this music in the background. And yeah, I think it's because we're all too lazy.

jordanisonfire
10-28-2007, 11:41 PM
I put music in the background because it sounds better. And if you can't hear what I say, all the better 'cos I'm just droning on.

Carraka
10-28-2007, 11:48 PM
I know if I'm going to sing for you, I'll be playing the song in the background, if only because it helps me stay in tune. The question is: which song(s)?

jordanisonfire
10-28-2007, 11:49 PM
Um... what can you sing? :P

Carraka
10-28-2007, 11:52 PM
What kind of question is that? Uh--mostly I sing stuff from musicals.

XDD That narrows it down some. I think I'm getting used to this typing. If only I could figure out how to write too...

jordanisonfire
10-28-2007, 11:54 PM
Well, everyone sings one type of music. Like I sing rock, but am terrible at stuff like opera and soul.

Carraka
10-28-2007, 11:59 PM
I can't sing anything I don't listen to, but mostly I imitate. People tell me I should get my own style, but I think copying other people is fun.

jordanisonfire
10-29-2007, 12:03 AM
People think I can sing Green Day, but that's only if I have them playing in the background. Makes my voice kinda like Billie Joe Armstrong's.

Carraka
10-29-2007, 12:05 AM
I'll record the next chance I get. First I have to steal the microphone.

Carraka

attempt6.wav - 10.21MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/4603967f0dc959/)

I did it! Some other time, I might sing for you, but you'll have to live with this for now. I sound so -- odd. And sarcastic. Do I sound sarcastic? I don't think I said anything sarcastic, but I can't quite remember.

Edit:

I was chatting with Imelda, and I said a lot of random stuff. And then I decided to record myself saying it. Now that I have a microphone on my desk, I might as well use it.

magentamittens.wav - 16.75MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/4604734d39fee4/)

O_o

Are you sure that's you, Carraka? It definitely doesn't fit with how you speak in your posts. Big difference in amount of sarcasm and excitement (and caffeine? :)), at least that's the impression I got.

That was probably one of the funniest recordings so far, counting the ones on TW.

Carraka
11-02-2007, 04:18 AM
Yeah, that's definitely me. I would like you to now imagine that voice saying everything that I type.

Cheese. Cheeeeese. Cheeeeeeeeeeese.

Have I ruined it for you? That was my goal--all along.

Andy
11-02-2007, 04:19 AM
Well, I'll never read your posts the same way again, that's for sure.

"I has bad grammar!" - best line

"I challenge you to not interrupt me!" - second-best line

Carraka
11-02-2007, 04:22 AM
Actually, it's "I has bad gramer."

My conversations with Imelda generally become like that. However, I didn't do any Car2 stuff, which would have involved screaming LOLZ into the microphone. Some other time, perhaps. And singing--I have a positively awful idea. Just you wait.

Andy
11-02-2007, 04:25 AM
I have a positively awful idea. Just you wait.
Imelda speaks like that. Positively awful. Creepy...

I'll get a new recording of myself up this weekend. I'll try to make it funny. :D

Carraka
11-02-2007, 04:28 AM
She speaks like that? I do begin imitating friends when I've been with them long enough, but only real-life friends. I've had dreams about Imelda, yes, but I don't think it's gone that far yet.

Then again, it's all subconscious. Who knows what the other 90% of my mind is doing as I type this? (I hope it's planning my in-class essay.)

jordanisonfire
11-02-2007, 09:31 AM
Nevermind Imelda, Andrew, you have a creepy voice. And when you're angry, it doesn't sound like you are. Remember the Skype incident? :P

Andy

Nevermind Imelda, Andrew, you have a creepy voice. And when you're angry, it doesn't sound like you are. Remember the Skype incident? :P
Yes, I whisper when I yell. :)

You, Shadow, should not play music that's louder than your voice when you're talking. Defeats the purpose.

Here's me, finally. My voice gets high at the end, for some reason. It sounds creepy, I think.
It Speaks? (http://www.zshare.net/audio/47006902ddcce9/)

jordanisonfire

Music makes my voice sound less... weird. According to Lexie, I was dying of pneumonia.

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 07:07 PM
What's that thing you say you do with other people after you say you're not a geek, Andrew?

Andy
11-06-2007, 09:22 PM
Er, "eat lunch" ?

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 09:24 PM
You have a weird way of saying "eat lunch", then. :P

Andy
11-06-2007, 09:30 PM
You have a weird way of saying "eat lunch", then. :P
I may have rushed that bit due to internal laughter. Or it might have been my insanely hard to understand accent. :king:

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 09:31 PM
...What was the king smiley for?

Andy
11-06-2007, 09:35 PM
Um, no idea. It took too long to find an appropriate smiley, so I chose one that I haven't used yet. And probably won't ever need to use.

Oh! It's not a reference to England at all, if that's what you're thinking.

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 09:36 PM
No, no, I didn't think that. Sorry to sound angry. :)

Carraka
11-06-2007, 09:37 PM
"I do, like, have lunch with other people."

I think that's what he said. But don't you guys call lunch "dinner" and dinner ... um, I feel like I've had this conversation before.

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 09:44 PM
The posh factor of England call lunch "dinner" and call dinner "tea", but I don't.

Imelda
11-06-2007, 09:46 PM
Urm, Shadow, it's the common ones wot call dinner tea. It's a Yorkshire thing.

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 09:55 PM
Hmm... that put me in my place on British knowledge.

Imelda
11-06-2007, 09:57 PM
Well you should know ... being a Yorkshireman and all. Be proud! Yorkshire makes such things as ... Henderson's Relish, and ... me ... and ... yeah, that's it, but that's enough. :P

jordanisonfire
11-06-2007, 10:06 PM
That makes me feel loads better, Imelda.

Imelda
11-07-2007, 03:00 PM
Ok, so I'm here to humiliate myself again. :D Yay!

Moi (http://www.zshare.net/audio/473648536bd8e2/)

jordanisonfire
11-07-2007, 06:09 PM
That was a bit... confusing, Imelda. But you're right, though. I'm a geek, I'm proud, I don't care what anyone says about me. I'm not sure about the rich part... some geeks spend about 18 hours a day on World of Warcraft, which damages their health, obviously, and drains their money until they have nothing left. Same for some video game players. But I'm not like that. :) So, geekiness is, in it's own way, cool. If that makes sense...

Imelda
11-07-2007, 08:53 PM
Oh I wasn't talking about that kind of geek. I'm talking about the computer-y-programmy-fiddly kind of geek, like what me and Andrew is. :P Geeks are in, and they're worshipped.

Andy
11-07-2007, 09:16 PM
Oh I wasn't talking about that kind of geek. I'm talking about the computer-y-programmy-fiddly kind of geek, like what me and Andrew is. :P Geeks are in, and they're worshipped.
Imelda means constructive geeks, right? Not WOW-ish zombie-geeks. :D

jordanisonfire
11-07-2007, 09:17 PM
I'm neither. So, I don't know what I am... now I'm just confused.

Imelda
11-07-2007, 09:30 PM
The WOW people aren't geeks in the true sense of the word. They're just losers ...

jordanisonfire
11-07-2007, 09:32 PM
Are you saying the people who are addicted to WoW are losers or all the people who play on it are geeks?

Imelda
11-07-2007, 09:34 PM
The people whose lives revolve around computer games are losers. Geeks are more professional. Fractionally.

jordanisonfire
11-07-2007, 09:37 PM
Well, I agree with you there, but modern society revolves around computers anyway. If we didn't have computers, our lives would change. Dramatically.

Imelda
11-07-2007, 09:40 PM
Exactly. That's why geeks are cool now. We need them to run our computers, and by extension our lives. :P

jordanisonfire
11-07-2007, 09:43 PM
Hmm, yes, you make a valid point.

Nyx
11-07-2007, 11:44 PM
Exactly. That's why geeks are cool now. We need them to run our computers, and by extension our lives. :P

Damn now all of us who aren't geeks will feel bad but thats ok cause I am one anyways.;)

Andy
11-08-2007, 01:01 AM
Imelda may sound nice, and she may seem friendly, but it seems she's out to humiliate me. :D

By "geek", I meant a person who has no social skills due to computers and stays locked in a room all day, not people who like to write and use computers in general. :P I'm proud to do both of them, and it seems you use a slightly less harsh definition of the word.

Imelda
11-08-2007, 08:35 AM
Nah, it just means I'm geekier than you. XD I found a modem wire in my underwear drawer the other day and I out-geeked the computer guy I'm working for by knowing how to do something geeky before he did. So I've joined the realms of geekdom and it looks different from the other side ...

jordanisonfire
11-08-2007, 06:22 PM
I have no idea what a modem wire. I'm a geek in all stuff except computers. Computers are not my strong point. I have a lot of general knowledge other people don't have in my year at school. Like, they thought Wiccans were Satanists, but I corrected them in a class talk for my English Speaking.

Imelda
11-08-2007, 09:10 PM
That's just smarts. You're not a geek. Quit sullying my good geek name!

jordanisonfire
11-08-2007, 09:11 PM
Very well, then I'm not a geek. I'm just... unpopular. I dunno, I have no idea what I am.

Carraka
11-08-2007, 09:11 PM
I don't think I'm a geek, because I am in no way tech-smart. However, people at my school don't seem to understand this. Smartness is equated with geekness. Maybe I'm behind in times.

Andy
11-08-2007, 09:17 PM
Nowadays, smartness seems to imply that someone spends more time studying than they do partying or hanging out. Which, of course, is totally unacceptable.

Imelda
11-08-2007, 09:17 PM
School kids are dumb.

Andy
11-08-2007, 09:18 PM
School kids are dumb.
Um...that could offend a lot of people. :D

jordanisonfire
11-08-2007, 09:18 PM
Nowadays, smartness seems to imply that someone spends more time studying than they do partying or hanging out. Which, of course, is totally unacceptable.

What, that the general idea of smartness is that or its bad to do more studying than anything else?

Imelda
11-08-2007, 09:20 PM
And since when do I care?

Carraka
11-08-2007, 09:20 PM
Well, if people say you're smart, and then you say that you don't study, they are even more in awe. x.x It's horrific, I tell you.

Imelda
11-08-2007, 09:55 PM
Yeah I know. Then the day comes where you don't study and you fail and no one believes you ...

Andy
11-08-2007, 09:58 PM
Yeah I know. Then the day comes where you don't study and you fail and no one believes you ...
That's when you show them your test. Then they all realize you're a human being, too, and not a god.:)

Imelda
11-08-2007, 10:47 PM
Yeah but they don't. That's the weird thing. You'll forever have your reputation hanging over you ...

Carraka
11-08-2007, 10:48 PM
That's when you show them your test. Then they all realize you're a human being, too, and not a god.

I did! I even showed them my report card! -stabs- On the other hand, apparently you can be called a 'geek' and people will still be friends with you. I don't understand the social hierarchy thing anymore.

Nyx
11-09-2007, 01:37 AM
Hmm... I know exactly what you mean.. I don't study and I get good marks, everytime I say I got a B people laugh like I'm joking...it's awful!
