A girl just won a contest for a mnemonic about the 11 planets - yes there are 11 now, ever since Pluto, Ceres, and Eris became part of a new category of planets called "Dwarf Planets"

In order, the planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Eris.

That's right, all of you who have completed first grade...your schools taught you WRONG! Now you know how your parents feel about a lot of things. :)

And the mnemonic, which the girl admits was inspired by Aladdin: My Very Exciting Magic Carpet Just Sailed Under Nine Palace Elephants.

So Pluto's a planet again?
The URL doesn't work...

Yes, it's a planet, though it's not the same category as Earth and Jupiter anymore.

URL fixed.
