Hello all of YWO.
I have a Religion assignment which requires a made up creation story.
ie. How God created the world.
I'm in need of idea's; I've made a creation story already, but it seems too "complicated" for primary school children, or it just has too much writing for them to be interested.
If there are any good children ideas, please suggest them! :D
I will answer this later, but I've got class first.
Can it be any creation story? Does it have to make sense, or be realistic? And does it have to be about how THE God made the world?

No, it does not need to be realistic. The idea can be any random one. And no, the idea doesn't need to be about how God made the world. =)
Okay then. :) First I think you should figure out why the world was created. Maybe:
- to provide a form of entertainment
- as an experiment to see what would happen
- by accident
- to satisfy some other desire of your god(s). Maybe he/she needed someone to love and made humans for that, or made the world as a gift for some other god.
- The Matrix!
And if you could give some characterization to the people who made the world, that could also help with why it was made. Was it an angry god or a....silly god? :D
Does that help?

You should make it fun, I think. If it's for kids, have it be silly and interesting.
Like:
Once upon a time there was an amazing being called the Great Gumbledumbly. He was a giant jellybean in the sky who created the Earth by spinning really fast...etc etc.
Chuck Norris created the universe. That's silly AND true. :squirrel:

Frodo created the Universe. It's more fantasy-ish. Chuck Norris is scifi. :P
Edit: Actually, it would be more interesting to say Tom Bombadil did it, but kids wouldn't know who that is...

Chuck Norris could knock some sense about Fantasy into anyone... let's stop these Chuck norris jokes :)
you could also make a creation story about how there was this goldfish that was all alone, and then the world was created so he traveled there and met many other animals and friends that he could have. After that he turns up and thanks... you know, whatever you symbolize for God in the story :) Like... fish flakes or something.
