Has anyone ever been or do you plan to go? These could be any sort of convention that has a writing track in their programming. DragonCon in Atlanta, GA is a SF/F convention, but they have a big writing track there too.

So who has been? Who will go? Who will not go? Why?

I've always wanted to go to a con, especially one with GRRM, because then I could see him in flesh and talk to him! Well, I don't know about the talking part. He's extremely accessible to fans, but I'm ... very scared of celebrities.

-.-

Anyway, I haven't been to a con because I don't want to go alone. I can go with my parents, but they don't really understand my obsession with George R. R. Martin, and I can't imagine myself leaping around without someone to squeal with. So I need to find someone my age to come with me, and that's difficult because? I don't have any writing friends yet. It'll come. I've joined the Writing Club. I must place my trust in ...

-.-

I've been to a couple conventions, but not writing ones. I'm hoping to go to the Eaton Conference this year since it's cheap as heck for University of California students. A lot of great writers are going to be there and it's going to be all about SF. It's cool.

I really want to go to a writing convention though (a fantasy or SF one specifically). We should totally get a YWO group together and go :P

I would totally be up for that one day. :D I'd even put up with Car squealing.

2012 sound good to you?

Shaun'll be rich and famous (and probably giving talks at the con) so sure. He might be able to get you 'backstage' with GRRM! And me with Neil Gaiman ...

Shaun, become famous. Now.

I think you have too high of hopes for me...

I most certainly don't. That's terribly grammatically incorrect!

I've never been to one, but I'd love to go. Problem is that I don't think they really have any in Connecticut (which is where I live), and if they do they're too far of a drive, and I have no one to go with. :|

Maybe we should do a YWO Convention some day :P
