What is this ninjas vs pirates thing?

It was something we did years ago, when I was a newbie. Some people were pirates, some people were ninjas, and we'd have spammy arguments all over the place and completely spam up newbie threads trying to convert the newbie who'd joined to one side. Then there were blue oranges and it got even worse. Oh, and Majyk and Tsuki became Ninjamages and they were friends with the pirates (sort-of) so it was then rather mutinous and we made little bases (see the Ninja Village and Tortuga social groups) where we'd plot and nothing actually happened . . .
