I've been listening to the same songs for the past couple of months now and thought it'd be a good idea to branch out some. Then I thought "Hey, why don't i see what other people like?" so here we are. What I want YOU to do is post your top 5 songs :)

Mine are as follows:
#5: Open Your Heart (Crush 40)
#4: Wishery (Pogo)
#3: Ain't No Rest for the Wicked (CTE)
#2: Mr. Blue Sky (ELO)
#1: Swindon (Venetian Snares)

I don't think it'd be fair, or even possible to name five best songs of all time...
So I'll just write down five that I've been listening to most lately in no specific order.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Have you ever seen the rain?
Dio - Holy Diver
Rest Among Ruins - Lackluster
The XX - Night Time
Desert Rose Band - One Step Forward Two Steps Back

Now that I look back at it, the genre mix is ridiculous.

I usually listen to soundtracks (I've found it best for writing), so most of my top five are from movies such as The Last of the Mohicans, The Mission, and--though I don't own any of the songs--I like some of the stuff from How to Train Your Dragon (haven't seen the movie, but awesome soundtrack). But being as I can only pick five:

Vivaldi Vs. Vertigo, by David Garrett
The Kiss/Elk Hunt/Promentory (being the theme music, it happens in a lot of different songs), by Trevor Jones, from The Last of the Mohicans
Summer, by David Garrett (actually, pretty much all his stuff. He. Is. Amazing.)
On Earth As It Is In Heaven/Vita Nostra, by Ennio Morricone, from The Mission
Take Five, by Dave Brubeck (though this one is only recently, and I'll probably get bored with it soon, plus I've danced to it twice, which is another reason why it won't last on my top five)

Notice how I squeezed in more than five anyway, haha. Also, this is the stuff I tend to listen to while writing. A completely different list of top fives could be what I listen to when I'm not trying to concentrate on a story, and would mostly consist of songs from musicals (plus David Garrett's stuff).

My top five would have to be...

1. Little Things - Good Charlotte
2. After The Last Midtown Show - The Academy Is...
3. Before The Lobotomy - Green Day
4. Longview - Green Day
5. East Jesus Nowhere - Green Day

I like to think of my self a a Pop-Punk-Glam-Rock-Alternative-Indie guy. Confusing, but true.

1) American Tune by Paul Simon
2) Like A Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan
3) Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie
4) Good Riddance by Green Day
5) Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles

Mine rarely changes, that's pretty much definitive for me.

Mine has now completely changed. It is now focused soley on the one set of tracks. And that is the soundtrack to 'The Shadow of The Wind". I'm a fan of Baroque as a rule, but after reading the book and then listening to the music, I just fell in love with it.

1. Penelope and Julian
2. The Shadow of The Wind
3. Bea
4. Song for Nuria Monfort
5. Lain Coubert

Here's the link to the site (http://www.carlosruizzafon.co.uk/shadow-music.html), if any of you want to listen to it. I highly suggest you do.

My Top 5 are constantly changing, too, but here they are (for the moment), in no particulah ordah:

1) Lose Yourself - Eminem
2) Sex on Fire/Crawl - Kings of Leon (It's not impossible not to bop your head to these guys <3333)
3) Show me Love (Not a Dream) - Utada Hikaru
4) The Dragon Boy - Joe Hisaishi, Spirited Away Soundtrack
5) You Make Me Want to Be a Man - Utada Hikaru

Cheated a little with Kings of Leon... :P Soundtracks, rock, almost anything by Utada Hikaru, some (good) rap...btw, if anyone knows any rap or partial rap songs with both a good beat and good lyrics (I don't care if there's cursing, just no dumb shit about money or sex or killing), please let me know.

In no particular order...
1. "Black Whistler" by Kasabian
2. "Hey Mr Tambourine Man" by Bob Dylan (I want that to be played on my funeral :) )
3. "Cut off" by Kasabian
4. "Fire" by Kasabian
5. "Hey Jude" by the Beatles

There are a lot of runners up... Leave me with just about any Beatles and any Kasabian, and I'll come back completely deaf.
