I've noticed that when someone makes a thread for a novel on this site, they make a new thread for each chapter. Why? If I make a novel, am I not allowed to post all the chapters on one thread?

Thank you! :)

Oh no, by all means post your entire novel in one thread. I used to do it that way. The reason I separate it now is because it makes it easier to find the chapters. Instead of searching through one huge thread, you've got lots of little ones. But in my most recently posted novel, now that I look at it, I've got both chapter one and two posted in the same thread. I'm thinking of doing maybe five chapters per thread or something. But it's totally up to you.

Simple man, just edit your first post. You can also bypass the points system this way if you can't be arsed criting others work. :sarcasm:

Uhmm, no, Rage, that'll get your thread closed. :P

Separate posts/threads per chapter, unless they're short. You can put links to later chapters in the same thread in the first post of that thread.

As Lyk said, no. That's considered almost as bad as one-line critiques. If you want to edit your first post to keep your story all together, then at least post a comment that uses up points and lets people know you've updated the thread.
