The Gems of Virtue

So the Gems of Virtue are sort of awards you give to your characters. To make a good story try to make a team of characters that through out the group have about six of the seven Gems so that they are varied.

The Amthist of Love
The Ruby of Courage
The Emrald of kindness
The Opal of Hopefulness
The Sapphire of Inteligence

Hmmm, I see the idea you are trying to put across, but it sounds really cliche. In many group travel fictions I've read, they've always had those kind of people. The types of characters aren't new, you used to see them a lot of the time (until Twilight came in and 'emotionally-void' became the new trend). You tend to see the a lot in animes, too.
For example, in the old Trigun, the protagonist Vash was the 2nd down to 4th, Meryl would have been amethyst and opal, and Mille would have been saphire. There isn't much varried choices either, to be honest it isn't varried at all.
What makes something varried is the difference between characters. One of those gems would probably also count as five more, due to the traits that come from being kind (love, purity, hope etc). What would make diversity would if you include the following (laid out in gem form):

Jet of Secrecy
Topaz of Energy (hyper)
Agate of Manipulation
Helidor of Ponse (Royal/ Posh)
Onyx of Selfishness
Cat's Eye of Sly

To name a few. You need balance; black, white and gray. Your examples are the fairy-tale cliche many grown readers are feed up to see, unless they are written in a good way. Sometimes a good group doesn't have to be... good! They can be made up of many misunderstood 'tropes', such as secrecy and sly.
