New Policy

This is a message for everyone regarding a two-fold policy. While in general you've all been very good regarding this, I just want to post this reminder, since the potential for it becoming an issue has risen due to recent events.

Andy and I (and George) will not tolerate any bashing of other forum communities here. At the same time, we ask that you not go on other forums just to cause trouble and/or act as though YWO is superior to it. Remember that your actions elsewhere will reflect on us, whether or not that reflection is accurate.

Please keep in mind that even if people from somewhere else come here to cause trouble, that doesn't mean the site they came from is responsible. Do not retaliate by doing the same thing they're doing. If people cause trouble here, the staff here will deal with it here.

While I don't think it has been an issue yet, I have concerns that it may be and I want to make sure that we all understand what our policy on this is. You've all helped to make YWO great, and we'd like to keep it that way, both for our members and the people who hear about us.

Anyhoo...yeah, there are a lot of TWians here who've done nothing but contribute. So, yeah, I think mending relationships are a great thing.

I haven't had problems with anyone from TW over here ((not even J that much)) so I think it would be great if we could mend relationships. Lets just hope its not easier said than done

Again, it's not a problem with TW itself. I want that to be very very very very clear. We actually have no problem with TW. We talk to one of the mods there and there isn't an issue between our sites. It's individuals and only individuals that don't represent the whole of TW. Our relationship isn't really bad, but we want to make sure none of our members cause any problems over there just as they don't want any people who happen to be members there to cause problems here. We'd rather all the problem making go away entirely...
This is the same with other sites too...don't cause problems and all is well.

We talk to some of the mods at TW and said mod told us about some of your actions there and why you got banned. So, that's why we know.

Besides, that guy was also saying the worst things about this site. I bet that fool Hypocrit told you the story, and I bet he did it while slandering my name around. Still, I won't do anythin like that again, you have my word.

And trust me, I've kicked someone in the *cuckoo* and popped one of their little babymakers, poured coffee into another fool's laptop and blackmailed one more individual for revenge before (yeah, I wasn't a perfect Christian back then either), and I can't say I regret those things today.

But I know they were wrong, and I won't be repeating them any time soon. So yeah, one more step to becoming civil for me :D

Try delinquent who was more fluent in swear words (in two languages) and hated the world like crazy? Yes, that was me. Even today I've still retained a bit of my evil attitude. But I found God. Now, it's hard for me to even swear on the forum.

Again, though, TW itself is NOT responsible for what J did while he was here. We can't go over there and start bashing people or bash TW for what someone who just happened to come from there did to anyone here. You just have to let it go.
And I didn't get the info from Hypo. He doesn't talk to me and I doubt he would. I don't think he likes me and that's fine. We talk to people higher up because we can't get anything done by talking to the lower echelons of mods. We have to talk to the higher ups to find solutions to issues. They are taking care of it, that much has been assured and they are taking steps to stop the YWO bashing over there. They are a considerably larger site than us, remember, so they have a lot more to moderate. Be patient and please don't bash TW and let's try not to bash individuals as much as possible. I don't care what some individuals say about us. Yeah, it's irritating, and sometimes it pisses me off, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. YWO isn't going anywhere no matter how much people hate us.
Try to think of it this way: Don't return the same abuse. You can't let it get to you.

So from now on, let's keep all the people bashing and TW/other site bashing out of things. Now if you want to bash YWO...well that's a different thing :P, j/k. Just crit, write, and do constructive stuff.

And Zaph, it was me who told them. I'm the highest authority (supposedly) at TW, I'm good friends with Andrew, and I'm dating Shaun. Honestly, what do you guys think we talk about? :rolleyes: We don't spill each site's secret agendas, but we do talk about them, and rude PMs sent to mods for no reason are always good for a laugh (do you really think we keep insults to ourselves? The staffroom has a LOT of laughter in between the discussion).

It's a separate issue, though, and I certainly don't hold it against you while we're on YWO because we're both just random members. At TW I have a job title, so ...

I'd really, really, really love it if everyone stuck by this new policy. Tolerance is cool. Harmony is cooler. I'm talking rubbish and I have to dry my hair, so:

Keep the fighting between :pirate:s and :ninja:s, not sites. ;)
