I came up witht this while writing down a list of names I've used in drafts for future and past ideas, I think this is an easy way of developing a characters personality, as its describes all they are, so you can always go back to that song of you ever need to.
So, chose 1-5 characters you are activly using in writing, (antagonist and protagonist required) and tell us what their perfect theme is and why.
It can be anything, from a parody song, Rap, Rock, even orchestral, but always tell us why it makes a good theme for that character. Enclude some of the lyrics if you want :P
I'll start to give an example:

Antagonist: Amaterasu Omikami- Get This Party Started (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqNcyFNMfLM&feature=related) by Shirley Bassey. Yep, she the antagonist, sadistic yet oh so stylish, stuck-up and throws loads of parties. She treats everyone se hate like the line 'I'll be burning rubber while your be kissing my ass' I also chose this version over P!ink's because this is more epic, and fits her posh yet intemidating way of speaking.
The first stanza of lyrics describes her snobish attitude and love of herself. She thinks shes the greatest thing since the invention of life.

Protagonist: Asgard Bane-Red Fraction (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jIT7_KCQzw&feature=related) by MELL. God, I could write a whole essay on how this suits Asgard, perhaps not in the beginning, but later on. For example, the first segment of lyrics that show up suit him, the first and second line because before he gets a Fighting Spirit, he uses a gun given to him by his father, or known as 'Lord' by his employees'. The third line because he wants justice and answers from his father and his mother in why they kept secrets from him, and why his mother left him to die. The fourth line can be taken in two ways; it suits him because he is a very pure lover, and two, when he's with friends, he'll usually touch them to make sure they are still there.

Sub-Protaganist: Cairo De Centa- Snake Eater Cover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT6QGNHFNes) by Marianne. I chose this cover instead of the orginal because I think its better and has a lot more soul in it. Why does it suit Cairo? Well, no-one will know Cairo yet, but I'll do her anyway :P
The first three lines will count as one. This suits her because in the second story, she starts to enjoy the very awkward darkness that surrounds Asgard's lineage, and finds getting into trouble with him can be very exciting (by the end of the second book she is Asgard's girlfriend). The fourth line can be asociated with her because of her love for Asgard, and she in the first book, one of her friends, Deray, asks her what she feels about 'Azzy' and she says; 'Looking into his eyes is like melting'.
The fith line cane be dragged back to the first three, but also stands on its own because she is an Immortal and her love life is completely oposite; she can fall in love really easily, so she has a fear of breaking his heart. The last line is really intresting. It connects to how she feel to the whole of Asgard's family. She discribes them as the 'Untouchable Beings', a synonym of Untouchable is Supreme.

Sub-Protagonist: Shini Bane- Have You Got it in You? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbDVA5nJW2Y) by Imogen Heap. This realtes to Shini's doubt of himself, and also his eventual questioning of Asgard's own choices. The lines 'Have you got it in you' are Shini directly talking to Asgard, asking if he's got what it takes to go all the way to the top, and the first few lines are about Shini doubting his abilty to raise Asgard right.
The song suits Shini's quiet side, the side he never really talks about.

Despite this thread's purpose, I'll join in because I have nothing better to do other than strive for attention. Why? Because I'm awesome like that.

Mostly, the music I associate the characters with have no special meaning other than the fact that I could clearly imagine them speaking with the music in the background.

Emma Stele - Than One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Csq3Jyjj4c)

Frederika "Rika" Haern - Float Flower (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-JjH67osbU)

Ryan "Ryu" Lawson - Drift Mind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4mF1CY650o)

Bardiel - The Seeds of Time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2WEZngxDFQ)

Yes, I particularly love this OST because of how pretty it is.

Alrighty then! :P

Protagonist: Evangelina Russo, Patty Griffin - Rain Chose this one because its general sound reflects the kind of "when it rains, it pours" situation she ends up in during the course of the novel. She's not a badass action heroine, she's an intellectual, and methodical. Just shows her character I guess.

Antagonist: Temple, Story of The Year - Page Avenue Just have a feel for him I guess, a kind of omnipotent figure who stays very calm and collected the entire time. Particularly the opening is him walking into a room.

Never thought about this before to be honest, but its a nice idea. I listen to music a lot when I'm writing so I had a stab!
