View Full Version : Host Transfer Completed!

We've finally moved to our new host, after a wait of a few days.

YWO should now be more than capable of handling the number of visitors it receives, without errors.

There's not much else to say, other than we've got a new Photoshopped logo, and several of the images used around the site have changed. I'm mainly referring to the button links around the site. Their fonts have been changed to a more flowing one, and is less square/alien than before. Enjoy!

We've got a bunch of ideas for new features that we'd like to try out. Such as a chatroom, wallpapers, an improved Info Center, and of course, the blog. And maybe a new moderator....

If you see anything that's not the way it's supposed to be (errors, missing images, etc), please PM me or post it here so it can be fixed. It's possible not everything made it through the transfer. :)

Seven times. Seven times never kill man.

I finally convinced my parents to use the aStore, but maybe the wait for the site to return has unconvinced them.

I also wrote while YWO was offline, and I actually got a lot done.

I think the change in logo is refreshing, and the buttons are more buttonish now.

I suppose the best thing is that we won't get as many errors, except I never saw any errors, so you might have just made them up.

I want to start a fifth sentence with the same word.

I preferred the old logo ...

:p

And if you figure out how to install a chatroom, let me know because it's been boggling my mind for a while ...

Carraka, if it helps, tell your parents that all that was going on was that our old host changed how they enacted policy and that we didn't want to deal with it because it was ruining the usefulness of the site and because we've never done a host transfer before things didn't go quite the way as planned. But YWO is here to stay and it isn't going anywhere. We aren't shutting down at all. That's a promise. Well, unless we both die...but that's not going to happen.
Just let the know it was just a fluke. It happens from time to time to any site. Amazon has been down before, but everyone still uses them!

Nice new changes. :D Ooh, and a new moderator, how exciting! :) But, to be fair, I don't think we really need one. Unless I'm being completely arrogant by thinking you and Shaun don't get loads of problem PMs and other stuff around the site.

I think there might be a problem with uploading images for your avatar and profile picture. I'm working on it, but in the meantime, you'll just have to survive with your current ones. :P

We're adding a new mod to act as an additional set of eyes Shadow. Andy and I are both University students, which means we do get clogged up with tests, essays, and the like, and might not be able to give 100% attention to YWO all the time. So, having that extra set of eyes as we reach 200 members will really help us out. There are a lot of threads here and a lot of posts :P

Problem solved. You can now upload images.

Well Andy worked really hard to get us back. Give him a big thanks :P. He does all that coding stuff...I mostly just forwarded emails from our new host to him...which isn't very hard at all. He does a lot of work for the site. The most that I do for coding is stuff for the blog, since I know how to do that :S.

I feel ashamed... It seems like everyone got some work down whilst the site was down. Well, I got nothing done, haven't had anything done in a while.

But anyway, uber glad the site's back up! Woot!

Oh so there was a reason, I thought you just didn't want me on the site anymore.

I got no writing done on the downtime, sadly. Hardly been able to manage any since NaNoWriMo.

Oh, really? I wish people would hire me without me doing anything. Like submitting an application. :P

Yay for not doing anything! The next best thing to doing something is doing nothing, that's what I always say. :D But, seriously, the prologue of Blood, Power and Sin was easy, but now I'm onto the chapters I have to follow a policeman, and I have no idea how police investigations go, really.

Oh they just witnessed my awesomeness and though 'We need that genius on board!' XD

Submitting applications works better.
