Choose The Path

Ok, this is an idea I just had. Basically, I start a story, then I leave it at one point and give you guys two or more options and you each post your vote on here or PM your vote to me. You don't have to sign up for anything, anyone can vote, even if they don't care where the story goes. :D

After five votings (I will give one night to vote and then post the next part the next day), I will end the story and then pass narration of the next story onto someone else. Who I pass it onto will be decided on a small game, such as guess a number and then the person closest to that number will get to narrate the next round. And it goes on. :)

So, let us begin:

Auron woke suddenly from a terrible sleep. He was drenched in sweat and his already dirty clothes had been made even more filthy from rolling around in the mud ans straw he slept on. He got up, annoyed with himself, and looked around the paddock.

"Auron!" an angry voice shouted from the fields, "get to cleaning them horses!" It was Lauron, the farmer who Auron was slave to. Auron didn't feel much like cleaning the horses, so he looked around for anything he could do. There was a road leading into town, but there was also the fields he could run across to get to the forest.

Should he go down the path to town or go across the field and into the forest?
