We (and I mean me and the other mods) have been talking about creating a series of workshops to be hosted here for anyone who wants to participate; we've been talking about it for months, actually, and we're only now thinking about rolling them out (since 2010 seems like a big year of changes for us). A few specific ideas have been circulating, but we'd really like to hear what you want.
What would you like to see put into a workshop? A cover letter workshop? Short stories? Critiquing? What?
Let us know here!

Characterization. World Building. :P

Characterization seems good enough for everyone. And 'beginnings' would help out too. Points of view would be another winner I guess.

I kind of like the idea of poetry workshops for mainly storywriters and story workshops for mainly poetry writers, to get people trying something a little different for once.

Are individual genres to be considered? Or are they too unspecific?

Shadow: We're considering anything folks express interest in. I can't guarantee we'll do everything, but if you want certain kinds of workshops, then let us know. Everything is fair game right now.

Then, if someone were to do one on Satire, it'd be very useful to me and much appreciated. :3

I think you should have one on how to critique poetry.

I agree on Poetry and how to crit poetry.
A more personal one would be Short Stories, ranging from beginning to advanced.
I don't know how much of a proportion of YWO would be interested in the literary/contemporary genre?

It would be a small portion for the lit/cont genre, but probably enough to make a workshop worth it.
I agree that a science fiction/fantasy world building one would be good.
