newbie here!
i feel like the new kid at school, ::shutter:: bad memories.

Hola, everyone!
I'm Monteal and i love to write. I'm still a little iffy on the question if I'm good at or not..
but i still do it anyways! (:
I'm more into novel and short story writing. I find that my poems and lyrics are awful corny. lol.
I finished my 1st novel awhile ago and now I'm starting my 2nd. my 1st needs some serious critiquing though (I'm not sure my mother is a valid source to use).
but any who, on my journey through the Internets i happened upon this website.
I hope I cant help you as much as I need you to help me. (:

Montreal is a pretty name!

You must be a way better writer than you think if you've finished a novel. It's about perseverance sometimes. :P If you have the endurance to finish something, then you can definitely improve--if you're open to receiving help. :)

Hope to see your stuff around soon, and that you find what you're looking for here!

Hey, hello, hi and welcome. ^^

There's no need to be nervous, everyone here is lovely. As long as you follow the rules. Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. I noticed some uncapitalised I's just now? Hmm? :glare:

Be careful with that, critique people's work and we'll critique yours, but you have to give as well as take. Anywho... Welcome and I hope you enjoy yourself. I'm looking forward to reading your novel; what's it called?

:welcome:

How old are you? What gender? What country?

What do you like to read?

What genre is your novel?

If you want to talk about it in more depth, feel free to talk to me in the chatbox. I love doing those types of things.

I am 17.
Female.
United States.
I love to read YA novels, my taste tends to vary. Right now, I'm in the middle of reading Splendor by Anna Godbersen, amazing.
My novel is YA. I guess it could be classified as a mystery. haha.
Oh! The name of my book is called, The Best Kept Secrets (name in progress).
Its the 1st of the series. (:

Orlando, I see? Nice to have another Floridian around here. Hope you enjoy it here, make sure you read the rules and critique guidelines, and if you ever need a critique on a piece of realistic fiction or poetry I'll be glad to critique it.

Welcome to YWO! Congrats on finishing a novel (that's always nice, isn't it?). I once tried writing a series. It failed as books one and two ended up combined. :p Now I stick with standalones.

Happy New Year!

I hope to read some of your stuff soon.

and HAPPY NEWS TO YOU TOO!! (:

You're talking to the person who left the last 1,000 or so words off her novel because she wanted to start on the next one instead. Talk about leaving things incomplete. xD But the novels that became one are actually better like that, so it worked out.

Hahaha. You're so lucky to have finished more then one novel. how many? Lol. it took the life out of me just to finish my first. I have a short attention span and loose interest relatively easy. Maybe that will make me semi-okay at critiques. If the story can hold my attention you know you're on the right path. lol. Just kidding. haha. XP

Well, I only got around to finishing anything good two years ago (or I guess three since it's 2010 now). I'm working on my fourth now. I think they get easier (although I'm still working on my conclusions. I never want to end things), but maybe it's just me.
Haha. I don't have that long an attention span, so I just finish my stuff quickly. :p

I'm sort of a analytical perfectionist. So i spend a lot of time revising and revising and making sure every little detail is somewhat decent. Hahaha. I want to put my best foot forward, even if it doesn't count. lol.

Hopefully, you'll be one of those people who critiques more than they post writing. ;)

Bonjour !

Bonne année !

in other words...

Hello!
Are you really French?
As I started critiquing I realized how much I enjoy it. I take every entry seriously and give my real opinions. I hope everyone will return the favor while ripping my work to shreds. (:

Happy New Years!

I finished my first novel in in 2008 and it's still being edited. It is a lot longer than my other ones, but still. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff, too.

If you're planning on starting to read somewhere in the middle, VM me or something first and I'll tell you what's been going on.

I don't want to start in the middle. I'll suck it up and read the whole thing. Though, you could give me a brief description of each story. (:
