I think I found a solution to dealing with lots of word documents with info about my series. It's a program called IdeaKnot. Basically, there are 3 columns. The left one is for categories of ideas, the middle one is a list of ideas (for whichever category is selected), and the right column is a detailed description of each idea, depending on which one is selected.

I found a free version for Mac. I know there's a PC version, but I'm not sure if it's still free or not. But it's incredibly awesome! You can sort stuff and rearrange the order it's in. I'm using one category for a plot, and the others for basic worldbuilding stuff. Anyone else use programs like this?

yWriter. Kind of.

You could have given us a link, Andrew. :(

And 'absence' is spelt wrongly in your sig.

Phooey on you. :P

Here's a link. Yeah, it's not free for windows, but there are probably loads of other free ones.

Andy, this should be in resources :P. I'll move it :P. But thanks for the link. I'll check it out and see if it is for Windows. If not, I imagine there is something else out there for it. I wanted to use yWriter, but when I write I don't have time to sit around organizing stuff...I just want to write :S. Opening Word and typing is a lot easier than what I have to do in yWriter :S. I should get into yWriter though...I need something to help organize my latest novel since I'm adding a 4th POV :S.

Shaaaaaaunnnnyyy I'll help you sort out yWriter. It's best to use it from the start of a project, or you have to sit down and sort everything out. Once you've done that, it's amazing, though.

I used to use yWriter... But I haven't actually done much novel writing in a while.

Not gonna lie, this sounds like the most retarded idea ever.

Madness is my method.

I make notes everywhere I go, papers and sticky-notes everywhere on my desk, backpack, drawers. *Sigh* I love it.

The rest I can just remember.
