Secret Santa 2007

We're doing a Secret Santa event this year (thank Shadow and Nyx for that). :D

Basically, you can sign up, and then you are given the name of a random other member who signed up. Until Christmas, you will send that person anonymous messages, pictures, poems, etc, through an account which I will set up in a few days.

The other person will try to guess who you are based on those messages. In the meantime, you will also be trying to guess which member is sending YOU messages.

When you think you've got it, you PM that person and say you've guessed them. If you're right, you win, and they'll give you a present (like a critique or something from the Bookstore). If you're wrong, you can try again later, until you get it right. If you don't guess by Christmas, that person will reveal him/herself and give you a consolation gift. ;)

The idea is to figure out which member would send the type of messages you're getting. They might be trying to deceive you, though, so use all your detective skills to figure it out. And of course, this is all just for fun! You can sign up in this thread, and discuss the game here.

We won't do it in pairs. We'll probably have something more like two circles. We could have a circle of four and one of three, each person being the secret santa of the next person in the circle. ;)

I'm going to set up a secret santa account, and when someone wants to send a message, they log into it and send it.

I've made sure nobody will be able to change that account's password.

Okay, okay. :D You will use the secret santa account to send messages to the account of whoever your person is. They don't send messages back to the santa (you) - that's not how it works.

At the same time, your secret santa will be using the santa account to send messages to your REAL account. See?

I'll give each person some password to put in their PMs, and tell your person the password too, that way they know it's from you.

So, I think once we start, everyone will get a PM from me like this:

You will be sending anonymous messages to: --------
Put this code in each of your messages so they know they're really from you: --------

Your secret santa will be sending you messages with the code: --------

I think that's the best way to do it.

I went through them all to see what each colour represented. I'm kind of a mix of green and blue; I'm up for protecting nature and stuff, but I'm not wild and I value logic, knowledge and wisdom but hate deceit and treachery.

Nobody can change that account's password, and you can't view any messages sent by yourself or other people using it. heheheh. :D

Just remember to include your codenames!

It's not supposed to. That account is shared by everyone, and people aren't supposed to be sending messages back to their secret santas. ;)

You can send it whenever you think you've got it. If you're first choice is wrong you can guess again and agian and again and so on:D
