Shaun

Most people have a regular genre that they go to when they write. I, for example, primarily write science fiction. I sometimes write fantasy and other things, but usually it's science fiction.
So, which genre to you write the most? Fantasy? Mysteries? Romance? Let us know!

Horror and Westerns.

A mixture between fantasy and romance....

Fantasy. Although at one point or another I have written in all of those genres, I feel fantasy is the one in which I am most at home.

I do :) It's difficult to write for an age group I haven't reached yet lol. Do you? (I presume from your asking the question)

That's what I'm leaning toward. But who really knows where my writing will take me......I've only just begun to put my ideas on paper. Hell, it may turn into a steamy romance:blush:

Fantasy mostly but I like to push myself and explore to see if I can do other genres, I've even written something like horror even though I rather hate horror movies, it's fun to write which makes me wonder if I'm insane or something because I find it so much fun to get into the mindset and develop my insane and blood-thirsty characters O_o

Yet another fantasy writer over here, :)
I notice we have no mystery, thriller, or historical fiction writers. At least, not yet...
Also -- what did you choose, Spacey?

I chose general fiction which is classier than it sounds :(
Ohhhh but I dabble. Dip my toes and the like.

:) I experiment, but I can't seem to write anything I don't hate the day after.
Dipping toes is good, as is general fiction. It means being versatile, as well as indecisive :P...

Fantasy, like most of the population. But I do make an attempt at historical every once in awhile (which usually fails because I don't have the patience to do research on any history), and I like to add mystery.
But, yeah, fantasy for the win :P

Yes! There is our elusive mystery/historical fiction writer! Though I suppose that doesn't really count in the poll...
Also, I've been told patience is a virtue... (though I have none -- that's why I can't play slo-pitch..)

Well, I've deleted patience from my Book of Virtues.
^That's a lie. I'm just not patient when it comes to writing history.

I wouldn't write historical fiction without some serious bribery. Or if I could just use the stuff I learned in history class -- might as well get something useful out of it..
Patience is not necessary, despite what my coach says.

I like to write raw real life fictional inspirational books. some romance thrown in of course. I might go ahead and throw in some fantasy al gories though. like narnia or the mouse and his child.
NAT says RAWR.

Fantasy, I get my inspiration from books like The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Howl's Moving Castle, and the Inheritance Cycle. I love writing things that can't happen and can't be explained like the moving staircases and living photographs in Harry Potter (book, not movie) or the tiny flying boat in Brisingr (possibly Eldest, i can't remember at the moment).

General fiction. I also read it. I hate fantasy! That includes Harry Potter and Twilight. Or are they not fantasy? Please feel free to correct me.
I also like reading historical fiction. It has to be really interesting, though, not just some facts jotted down on a page.

It was kind of hard for me to chose just because I write in a lot of different genres, but I've found that in all my stories there is an element of romance although that may not be the main focus.
