Do you use SparkNotes, CliffNotes, or similar resources when reading books for school?

I only use them to review...and even that's rare. Although I'll use the free internet summaries and such when I do use it to study, I NEVER buy the book versions.

I use them when the book that I was reading sucked, and I can't finish it.

No way.

If I didn't read something for class, and we have a paper due, I bullshit it and pretend that I did read it.
The key is to run around the question.

Works everytime.

Probably a stupid question . . . what are they?

I put "only sometimes," but I actually haven't used them in a long time. I've actually received As in classes where I didn't read the books...my friend was very upset with me because he couldn't get anything better than a B, and he spent all his time studying. But that's what undergrad is like for English majors. 90% BS.

The only time I ever used book ntoes was in grade nine while doing To Kill a Mockingbird, I wanted to see a different perspective for this huge project we had to do.

Then my teacher gave this whole speech about how bad Cliffnotes were when she was handing back the marks, called my name and as I walked up had this real foreboding look on her face. I was scared poo-less. She just said my title page was creepy, but all was good. XD

I've heard of CliffNotes I suppose but not the Sparkthings. I've never used them. We've never had any big reading for school anyway (the longest was Call of the Wild) and I like reading. Well, I love reading.
