(I thought it was funny because it's a documentary of some kids who are making their own movie, and a couple hours before they are supposed to show it...their Mac mysteriously deletes the entire project so they are left with only the unedited footage!!!)

Oh and to add to my hatred of Macs. I crashed one at school yesterday by doing the following:
Opening a document and pressing "print". It locked up and I couldn't shut anything down. In Windows, the problem would have been fixed in about...3 seconds :P. Sorry, I absolutely cannot stand Macs. And all those BS commercials about how Windows sucks and Mac is better are a load of crap. Mac has just as many damned problems...

First off, Shaun, you could make a video like the first one out of any computer or video game platform. If I wanted to go online and collect some videos about windows crashing, I'm sure I could. No computer is perfect. There's a warranty, anyway. My next Mac which I'm getting through my college has a 4-year warranty.

The funny thing about a Windows crashing while Bill Gates is presenting it is that has never happened during a Steve Jobs presentation. You can't find Apple videos like that, and it seems to indicate that if as PC manages to crash during a 20-second presentation, then they seem to have a high likelihood of crashing.

The second video is just dumb, and I've seen it several times before. The guy rants and rants, and sometimes he even says things about Macs which don't make sense, as though he's never even used one. Seriously.

Here's the difference: Everyone knows that Windows crashes from time to time. And everyone knows it's annoying and it sucks, but they know they can fix it easily. But Macs are played off like these perfect OS systems that never break and always work, when that's far from the case. The one thing that Windows has never done to me in all my years of using it is lock up after opening a document and clicking print. Never happened, not even once, and I do a lot of clicking and printing, and I've been using Windows since 3.1, and DOS before that. If Mac is so good it shouldn't crash on something so simple. I'd expect it to lock up over something crazy difficult, because the way the system is portrayed is as if it is the greatest thing in the world. If it were the greatest thing in the world I should be able to have fun trying to find ways to crash rather than having it happen over something simple.

You should buy a warranty on any computer, regardless of OS. The reason is that hardware is often unreliable and if your HD breaks and you have no warranty, tough crap. That happened to me on my desktop. The HD was faulty and I almost lost everything. But the HD would have broken regardless of what OS it was on.

On the Bill Gates thing: First, we're talking a beta test version of Windows 98 that hasn't been released to the public yet. That's what was going on. They were showing people what was coming up. The fact that it broke then rather than breaking after it was out on the market is a damn good thing, because they could at least fix the problem. Second, by the time 98 was rolling out, Bill Gates was a figurehead. He was so rich from selling so many Windows OS systems (hundreds of millions actually) that he didn't actually have to work anymore. He's just there to look pretty and provide some measure of confidence for the product (since we generally ID Windows with Gates).

To add, I buy products using the same logic as when I vote. I don't vote for people who attack other people as a way to prove they are the better candidate. Likewise, I don't buy products from companies that use a campaign to promote their products that revolves around lying, deceiving, and misguiding the public into thinking that product is better. Windows speaks for itself. It doesn't need these ridiculous campaigns to prove its worth.

Also, you owe the fact that you can still use a Mac to Bill Gates. Apple almost crumbled. Bill Gates generously donated to Apple several times only to make it so he couldn't be indicted for being a monopoly, which is stupid. The only reason Apple is still around is because of the iPod (no, the iPhone isn't doing anything for Apple because not only do they have serious security problems, but several people are suing the company for not paying appropriate patent royalties...a sum of millions actually).

Besides, anything you can do on your Mac I can do on my PC :P.
