There's something happening around the world, and it's something I thought I should share with all YOU amazing YWO-ers.
What is it?
The 10 by 10 campaign :]
This is a campaign to change the world (even if ever so slightly) for the better. In fact, it's an extremely SIMPLE, EASY, way of doing so.

The basics: This campaign is not only fun to join but also benefits you as an individual when you join it! As one can easily take from the name, this campaign revolves around the year 2010 and generally around the number-you guessed it-TEN! Anyone can join the campaign by making very few commitments.

First off, by joining 10 by 10, you pledge to take TEN simple actions towards making the world a better place. These commitments can be things such as hugging 3 people a day for a week just to brighten their days, taking showers under 10mins so as to not waste water, or even turning off the lights when leaving a room. However, if you wish to do more, there are other commitments you can make, such as fund raising for the Free the Children organization, volunteering in your community for a few hours, or volunteering abroad!

The other step is e-mailing 10 people to let them know about the campaign, they don't have to join of course, it's all about raising awareness.

And finally, because of the commitments you're making, a sponsor of the campaign will donate $10 under your name to help underprivileged communities overseas!

A word or thirty-two about the organization (Free the Children):"The primary goals of the organization are to free children from poverty and exploitation and free young people from the notion that they are powerless to affect positive change in the world. "

Why I'm posting this here: All my friends who are involved in this campaign have raised/ are raising awareness where they are most involved in (ie. sport teams, school clubs) And though I am involved in some sports and clubs, those are not really the places I feel most involved and commited to. Nor do they make up the community I most enjoy being a part of! That place for me is obviously YWO. So rest assured, I am not trying to force my idealistic views on you. I chose to inform you about this campaign because I think some teens here are (like me) looking for a way to change the world for the better and well...here's one!

I hope some of you will find this interesting, and maybe one person on here will think YES THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR ^^
