It will be a while before the Literature forum is redone. But in the meantime, I realized some of the things I'm working on could be useful to people right now, and could be easily added.

When you're submitting literature or a critique, you'll now see something called "Tools (Beta)" under the text box. At the moment, there's only one called "Separate Paragraphs." Clicking it will put a blank line between all the paragraphs.

Some may find it useful, others not, but now, the option's there.

See How It Works (http://i31.tinypic.com/fazb50.jpg)

I called it Beta Tools for a reason - I'm not sure it will work on everyone's browsers (though I tested four, and also both editor modes), so any feedback would be appreciated. :) It looks tacked on now, but when everything else is done it'll look much better.

UPDATE: Added a simple word counter.

This is awesome! Now I want to critique something to try it out! (Unfortunately, no time right now.)

Added a word counter. Probably not as useful, but it was accurate in all my tests. ^^

Fantastic work there Andy.

Good to have you back to make this site all it can be.

Yay! Not so useful as a critique tool as a submitting one, for now at least, but I hate doing this by hand before putting up a story. Now if only I had a story to put up...

Well, if you're critting a story where the lines aren't separated... ;)

Doing it by hand always drove me crazy as well.

Find what: ^p
Replace with: ^p^p

in Word ... that did the trick for me. Except I didn't learn it until very late on.

Works on my browser, though.

I just used that for a critique and it gave me the count for the whole thing, quoted chapter and all. Is there a way of defining it so it only counts the extra words that aren't in the original post? Or did I just use it wrong? Technology confused me at the bets of times. :P

Right now it counts all the words, chapter, and critique. It's not finished yet.

Separating the critique is easier said than done (code-wise, anyway ;)), but I'm working on it.

Okay, thanks. I just though it might be me or my computer being silly. xD
