It's December! And there's news to report.

NaNoWriMo Points

If you wrote more than 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo this year, you can get 25 points for the Bookstore. See this thread (http://www.youngwritersonline.net/showthread.php?t=344) to submit your name.

Minor Site Changes

The left and right sides of every page are now silver, and will hopefully make the site look a little less blinding-white and less like it's floating in open space. But if most of you don't like it, it'll be changed back.

I've also fixed a problem where the posts in threads were not lined up with the top:

Also, if you've got a very wide screen, and the site looks really stretched horizontally, you can now view YWO with a fixed-width option.
Find it in your User CP > Edit Options (http://www.youngwritersonline.net/profile.php?do=editoptions), and then Miscellaneous Options (Forum Skin), near the bottom.

Contests

We've got THREE contests with deadlines form the 24th to the 31st (all of which have been added to the calendar)! If you can't do all, at least try for one. You've got your theme choice between Dystopia, Cheese, and Comedy.

Holidays

There's also the Day of the Ninja on December 5. Of course, YWO will not be missing an important event like that. :rolleyes:

Also expect a winter/Christmas/Hannukah/New Year's logo and icons sometime soon.

Anyway, I have no problem with the silverness. I didn't even notice it. So--either way is fine with me. I didn't notice any of the other mistakes either. I'm obviously one of the most astute members of this site.

And I must encourage everyone to join the Cheese Contest and be random! Because randomosity is ... random! Yaaaay!!!! Even if you don't win, you'll have written a story about cheese!! Impressive, eh?
