This book, is set in the late 18th century early 19th century. It's main character is a girl called Evie Hopkins, who's controlling father owns a chemist. One day though, a woman comes into the shop and dies there, she later finds out it's her mother who she was told died years ago. (DUNDUNDUN, 'kay)
She then meets a guy called Ned Collins who her dad thinks is "common". She eventually runs away with him, gets married and has two children, Victoria, or Queenie which she is called throughout the book and Robert, called Bobby throughout the book.
When Ned goes to fight in the war and dies cause his ship sinks, Evie is left with no income whatsoever so she gets a job at the local business as a cleaner. There she meets (god I forget his name, I'll add it in later) who is married with a son and a daughter, they become close friends and when his daughter dies they become closer. Sharing their grief etc. Then they "fall in love" and it all ends going upstairs. When -I'll add the name here- goes home, and asks his gold digging wife for a divorce she refuses it so Evie is forced to be -I'll add his name here- mistress, of course he moves away from his wife. Basically Queenie gets married to his son, and Bobby doesn't want his money and moves away to find a life of his own. Evie has a daughter to -I'll add his name here- called Daisy.
This book was okay, if a bit cliche at times. It's a good thing to read when you're a bit bored, but there aren't much major surprises so at times it can get a bit boring.

Um.. was this a review or a resume? :D
Now I won't read this book because I feel I already know all that's going to happen on it.
Just kidding, I doubt I'd read this book anyways, I rarely read realistic dramas/romance.

I personally always like to know what happens in a book before I read it :D. Plus, it's not very surprising which is one of the bad things about the book.

Indeed, most books you know the ending by the end of the second chapter. Happens in movies too, very sad.
