Damn straight! Some of the best additions to my stories are made as a result of harsh critiques - and now they're pretty ok, if I don't say so myself (which I do).
Anyhow, welcome to YWO! I'm gonna back up the others with the grammar speech - sorry. I'm an English freak (the subject, not the country - I'm Aussie).
And good on you! The most important things about writing (at least in my personal opinion) is that you enjoy what you do, and that you listen to your audience. ^_^ You'll never go wrong! ^_^
All the same, there is such a thing as too harsh, especially if it's unconstructive. But you'll find that unconstructive, or decontructive critiques are dealt with pretty well here. So if there is a thread of harshness in the critiques you get, you'll know that we mean well. ^_^ And really, it's better than spooning you sugared poison. ^_^
