If YWO had a blog, what sort of things should we blog about?

Initial ideas:

- Contest Winners
- News in the Literature World

Because if we had a news thread every time we had a contest or the monthly point-givings, it would bury everything else. Putting that on a blog would also make it easier to find past winners.

And literary news...is not Site News. :D And I think a blog would make it more organized.

Any other ideas for what we'd do with a blog?

Maybe we could highlight a monthly 'literary discussion'. One that would specifically be made to be mentioned on the blog, but put in the literary discussion area. Sort of like a "well this month we're talking about...". Then maybe we could have a recap after?

I would say writing advice but I think we don't really need that. We have the guides area for that.
Definitely should have discussions of literary news--genre, etc. We could also highlight, just like what I said about the lit. disc thing, special contests and challenges. And then host the winner on the blog or something. That would be nice.
If the blog does well we could also have short interviews with people from the site (textual or audio). Not a podcast, mind you, but just short interviews with people from here that don't really need a structure, just an interview. I know some authors too who might be willing to talk about writing as well...

Those are some ideas I have atm.

It's basically like a journal only the entries don't have to be about yourself. Just click some of the links in my sig and you'll see what I mean.

Pretty good idea. I don't really have any suggestion of what to write in it (since Shaun gave all the good ideas already) but I'll post if I think of something.

Great idea! we can put up things like the theme song, podcasts, announcements etc.
