Since apparently everyone is doing these without me (Andy, Carraka, Imelda...*glare*), I'm going to put this up so we can get some big word wars going between people.

So what is a word war?
A word war is really very simple. You get together with one other person (or more if you like, there's no limit), and you pick a period of time to use (5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.). Then each of you stop everything you're doing and for whatever time you chose you write. That's all. Nothing else. No surfing the net, no talking on MSN, no nothing. Only writing.
At the end of it, you stop and you declare how many words you wrote. The winner is the person who has the most words.

But I don't write very fast, so I lose every time!
Actually, if you do any writing you automatically win anyway. The object of the game isn't to write the most. The whole point is to actually write. If someone writes 1,500 words more than you every time, and you only write 400, what does it matter? You are 400 words ahead of where you were a few minutes ago! That's the whole point! Just write! If you never 'win' a word war, who cares?

So, PM people for word wars everyone! I think we'll try to have a monthly site-wide word war too, just for fun!

EDIT by Andy: You can post your word wars results in this thread, if you want. Make sure you give the word count and the amount of time you battled! ;)

Yep, they're excluding me, too. And I thought I was popular on this site... :P

I'll tell you why I'm excluding you.

I don't have Skype. I have no way of contacting you and screaming, "GO GO GO START WRITING" OR "STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP WRITING".

Umm... yeah. I suppose you all want me to get Skype now.

Last I heard, they've all abandoned Skype and moved on to MSN.

Then would I be far off in demanding that you get MSN?

I have MSN. Mine's too crowded with weirdos. I don't even remember half of them.

Well, then. If you told us your MSN, then we could attempt to Word War with you. -shiftyeyes- Or you could get a new screen name, if you really hate those weirdos, or you could delete/block those weirdos, or you could do nothing and complain about us.

Or get a new MSN account for writing.

Seriously, though, word wars are awesome! If you've never done it...do it.

Yeah, I'll get a new MSN account. Much easier! :D

Edit: How do you get it so you don't have to sign up for a Live account, you can just use your AOL address or GMail.

I only stopped using Skype because my gf doesn't really use it much anymore so there's not point in me being on there. You can always PM people like me, or add me to your MSN or whatever. I have no problem talking to people on my MSN, which is in my profile. Or PM me and set up a good word war time for you Shadow and I'll get on Skype. Usually when I'm online Imelda is too so we can do a threeway.
