Top Thanked(?)

Here's my idea: how about there's a certain amount of points rewarded every month to the top thanked user? I thought it might be a nice thing, so let me know what you think.

The problem with that is figuring out how many times a certain person was thanked each month. Otherwise people who have been here forever will win more than people who have only been here a month. If we can figure that out I say sure.

Shadow, admins can't win any of the free point things. We don't win points for posting the most, or anything like that. We have to earn points through crits. We do get holiday points like everyone else though, but for this we wouldn't win anything.

Wow, I'm joint-third with two other people (I know it says TN is third, but she got ten points for doing nothing because she came to the site too early before the default thanks starter was changed to zero).

About the most thanked. Erm, yeah, it might be harder pinpointing the exact amount per month, but maybe we could have a 'most over-all thanked' for each category, i.e. newbs, aspiring authors, etc? (Might be too much work...)

Well, whatever we do, it would have to be within a given time frame, like Shaun said. Otherwise people could accumulate thanks and they might get it multiple months in a row.
