View Full Version : Thanksgiving 2007!
Well, this is YWO's first holiday theme. The logo's been changed to have an autumn feel, and the books on the community and literature pages have been changed to leaves. If you don't see them, try refreshing your browser a few times.
Since Thanksgiving isn't celebrated in a lot of countries, we won't do much else (Christmas will be different ;)), although Shaun is going to give everyone some points for the bookstore.
In the United States this year, Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November 22. If you're not familiar with it, it's a day when lots of extended families get together under one roof, share a large meal and spend time together. Most schools let their students go home for a week, which makes it even more popular!
We'll try to do plenty of other holiday themes in the future, for international holidays and other large-country-specific ones. Maybe we'll do contests or games for them as well. So enjoy the decorations while they last!

Well, I'll not repeat what I said on the Thanksgiving thread. Anyway, the thought of families getting together is a good thing. Too bad England only comes close to it with Christmas.

It looks good, before when I logged on it wasn't faded and it kind of creeped me out a little.
I espeacially like the leaves!

"Logo's"? *Raises eyebrow*
It's kinda tame ... there should be more orange. ;)

Yeah, I thought that too. It was too dark, so it got faded.

Logo HAS, not IS. :P Alternate contraction, though I'm not sure if it's correct or not. Probably not. Oh well.
I'm not editing the whole style. The silver's easy on the eyes and I think it should stay that way. Besides, NaNo calls. :D

Ok, I accept the correction. :(
You saying my orange wasn't easy on the eyes?
No, I'm saying that silver's easier on the eyes than just about all other colors. ^^
The logo and icons have been turned back to normal. Refresh it if you don't see it yet. But Christmas and New Year's are coming up soon, so...yeah. :devious:

Ooo, a devious face. Perhaps it will be an evil Santa, wielding a katana and stabbing a pirate and saving a ninja (then it wouldn't be such an evil santa :P)...
Are there any holidays for pirates and ninjas? Because those might be deserving of a one-day thing. :D

Umm... we could make a ninja-pirate day. Or, a ninja-pirate smiley! A smiley with a ninja's mask but with an eyepatch and a hat. :D

^ That's more like it. Official holidays made by people with too much time on their hands. Hey, Ninja Day is December 5! Interesting...

December 5th is my half-birthday ....
It's also the first day of Hanukkah.
I guess I'm going to be half-violent on that day. I mean, more half-violent than usual.
