View Full Version : Poll #2: Procrastination Types
It hasn't been a week, but this section is empty. :) Don't forget you can submit your own poll ideas, which would be neat if we got a bunch.
Anyway:
Which procrastination monster is most effective against you, and why?

Good lord the net is my vice...

I end up surfing the web when I should be writing or doing homework or something else... sometimes I wish I didn't have internet access for the sake of productivity. I'm considering buying some nicotine patches to curb the addiction...
But you know, I've realized, I don't really go to very many sites... I go to my school's website, this message board, one other message board, I check my e-mail, and Facebook. I just go to them repeatedly... checking if anything has changed... in the 3 minutes I wasn't looking at it.
Same, Nick. I found that going to class/the library with my laptop and leaving my power cord back at the dorm is a help. It lets me have some time on the net, but other than that I have to do homework and read in the time between classes.

I'm living at home this semester, so I can't really do that now, but next semester when I move into my dorm I'll do that, but I still fear that the urge will be too great.

I can't decide between Internet and reading. With the Internet, I can just turn off the wireless, but with reading, I MUST FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS .... so ....
I haven't voted yet.
On the plus side, since it's NaNo, I've been procrastinating from writing my novel by doing my homework. o.O It's very odd.

Talking on MSN. That kills me.
It used to be TW, but all the chatty people have gone, so ...

The Net. That's the major reason why I never got anywhere with NaNo.

That's foolishness! NaNo is more important than an education. Actually, it's funny, because you could procrastinate either one with the other. I guess it depends on which one you want to do more.

Um, just going off-topic for a second. Andrew, what the hell is your signature picture supposed to be?

It's a link, Shadow. Click it. I'll add that in.

Ah, I see. Sounds like one of my teachers. :D Ok, end off-topic.
It's Chatting by E-Mail, Phone, or Instant Messaging for me:D Whenever I have homework I try to to do it while IMing but usually it doesn't work out that great(yes, I know very shocking!).

What is NaNo? The word-count thing? O.o
Okay, why was I here... Right. I procrastinate because of MSN, Quizilla, Friendster, VF, mini-games... Anything to do with the computer. As long as I'm sitting in front of the screen doing SOMETHING with it, I'm fine.
The thing is, I don't do homework with the computer.
Another thing. I predict that I'm not going to finish my story/novel as quickly as I predicted last week, because I joined YWO. I've bookmarked a few stories here... T_T Uhoh.
But hey, who knows? My prediction could be wrong. Again.

I have this problem were I just can't stick to things, especially with writing.
The internet is mine, I click on one link, then it just gets out of control.
Yeah, procrastination. That's the biggest problem with me.

Surfing the web...my procrastination drug. I'm trying to break the habbit, though.
Drat, I forgot video games.
Gah!
You should have been able to pick like three choices... I'm the Queen of Procrastination!

Ah. I put everything off, including SLEEP. Yeah, around 11 o' clock at night the light will click on and you'll hear me fumbling around in the dark for my COMPUTER, BOOK, or NOTEBOOK. (Okay, I had some fun with colour there.) If I'm reading a really good book, I'll even put off eating for a while. Not completely, but instead of eating at the dinner table, I'll read. My parents actually confiscate my books, internet, gameboy, ipod, and cell when I need to do homework or chores. EVIL!!
There should be an 'all of the above' option, along with the 'none of the above'.

^^ Reading. Gah! I tell myself, "Reading is better than television," and I'll read for hours at a time. Mostly to get out of chores, but who likes chores? ^^ I pay my sister to do mine. Yes, I am lazy. I am lzy and a procrastinator.
Plus, I'm always on my laptop or reading until like three in the morning which means I'll sleep in until twelve the next day. ^^

I'm extremely lazy. Lethargic. Sloth. Words that describe me. If it wasn't half as boring as it is, I could really just sit around and do nothing all day, all the time.
The worst though is going on the Internet, when I have it. I can't write when I'm on the Internet. Luckily, I don't have wireless, yet. But I will soon, for school.
So I probably will never write again after that.

Watching tv (sometimes without interest about what i watch - just to do something) and surfing the web ( I lose the time , I start searching for something and i end up searching or reading about something else!)

Ah, I think I voted wrong, I thought it was "what do you procrastinate doing?" and I said "reading" because I tend to put it off sometimes.
Hmm, but I think the internet has the biggest hold on me, when I am trying to do homework or have a list of very important things to do I keep telling myself I have more than enough time but all that time is gone by the time I get off :/

Read...or surfing the net. Or just my own laziness.
Or sleeping.

Well, I voted "None of the Above" but I just realized that nowadays it's :ywo: that takes up the most part of my free time. When I'm allowed on the computer, that is...

Reading. I spend so much time on it and if I'm asked to do something I usually say "When I've finished this (chapter, page, book)".

WOW can I identify with that!!!
Can I put none of the above for all of the above? :P Most would probably be stuff on the compy and writing and reading, big fat TIE between them all.

Replace second forum with blogger and that is my unproductive time waster in a nut shell.
