Signature Restrictions

Numerous times now, Shaun and I have had to ask members to edit their signature, because the pictures in them are just too big, some of them absurdly big. It can be an eyesore, and for members with slow connections, this can make load times much longer.

So images in signatures will work a little differently now. When you click "Edit Signature," you will be able to upload an image no larger than 300 x 100 and no bigger than 10 KB. That's the size of 3 of my avatars side-by-side.

The tag won't work in signatures anymore. However, you can still use smilies, for a maximum of 3 images.

I'm only joking, I'll go change it, though you haven't told me to change it directly yet. :D

Edit: But isn't just 100 pixels of height a bit small? I mean, the usual minimum for signature BANNERS is 150 pixels.

The dimensions are a bit small but for me that's okay. I don't like big pictures. ^^;

Lily, go into the place where you edit your sig, then upload this http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp12/Nitier/e107912.gif into the first option. Then click on insert sig picture. I think that should work. :)

What about 300x300? The height is a little too limiting. Whatever, I don't even have a pic in my signature now.

That's way too huge. In general, we'd like signature images to not be bigger than the average post length. ;)

You know, I googled it and the size isn't that bad. I'll manage. If that means I'll have to save the picture, resize, and re upload it that's okay :).

I guess I'll just have to stick to banners, then. Andrew, could you at least up the height to 150? That's pretty forum law for the minimum signature banner height, dude. And you know you wanna conform. :P

I thought it was just an automatic editing. Andy changed the rules so the website wouldn't allow the tags to be used, but he didn't go around personally editing everybody's sig.

I actually don't know if they deleted it, it just disappeared in one post and I thought, seeing as I had a protest in my signature, that it had been deleted. If so, the admins/mods are fascists. :P
