Have you ever read an entire book in an electronic form - either on a website, computer file, or eBook?

Nope, I really prefer feeling the paper as I read, especially considering I can read it lying on the couch
but now that I got a laptop, my answer might change someday

I hate reading books on the computer, so no.

No, I wouldn't know where to go for free books and I can't afford e-books and I have a big thing against them. I also hate reading from computers, makes my eyes hurt. I've critiqued nearly a whole book so that could sort of count, but I still voted no.

Actually, I critiqued a whole book online also. And a second one in Microsoft Word.

But just for plain old reading, no.

If we're counting books we've critiqued, then yes, I have. :P

I said no but I just remembered I read a leaked book online.

Not for actually reading for fun, but I've read a few things for research online--usually old stuff that doesn't have copyright issues to go along with it.

I've done it and I don't particularly care for it, to be honest. I would be willing to try one of those new readers though.

I read a few short stories online, usually so I can avoid bringing my literature book home (it's my largest and heaviest book). Otherwise, I don't like it. It hurts my eyes to stare at the screen so long and I like being able to hold a book.

Eh, I tried to read one of my friends' books off Microsoft Word, but it got annoying to say stuff like "I'm two fifths down the scrolly bar" so I just printed it out and numbered the pages.

If manga counts then yes. But an actual book. No not for fun at least

I read Hans Cristian Anderson on the web. His original "Little Mermaid" made me cry so much.
So, Yes. I have.

Hell, no. They're so much harder to read.

I think they're really convenient; you don't have to buy the book, get it from the library, or borrow it.

I read mostly electronically now. I live in the middle of nowhere, so it's easier. I do prefer a paper book, but They are harder to come by for me out in the middle of nowhere.

No, I have not - well, I have started some books electronically but I've given up on them soon. To me, a big part of reading is the detatchment from contemporary icons, such as anything electronic. But I suppose the answer would naturally vary for other people, and I don't think that there's anything wrong with electronic reading, I just know that it doesn't work for me.

No, and I don't want to. I love that feeling of the books pages in my hands, it's cover, the way it smells... I could keep on listing if need be...

Nope, I cannot seem to concentrate when reading it off of my computer screen.

No. The computer hurts my eyes after a while and it's not a very comfortable position to read in. And e-books... I dunno. I like being able to take a pencil and underline things, or sticky-note them. And I like buying used books. And I love the smell of books and the over all experience of purchasing them. So I think I would be pretty sad if they were replaced by e-Book readers.

Reading off the computer for a whole book? Eeek... It hurts my eyes.

Nope.
Nothing beats a good book. =] These new electronic reader thingy-ma-bobs are just awful.

I would never do it again, but one time I had this really strong urge to read The Little Prince, so I read it online.

I love that book.

I hate reading electronically.

nothing beats an actual book. An e-book is just to painful for the eyes and I tend to miss the feel of paper between my fingers.

I just got a Nook and love it. New books lack all that appeals to me about the older books: the smell, the yellowing of the pages, the crickle crackle with every turn. I read modern novels and public domain novels on my Nook. Everything inbetween, I buy physically.

Yes, but I wish not. I hate it!!! I could never imagine having an e-book reader or reading things on something like an iPhone, or even on the computer! I like the actuality of holding a book while I'm reading it!

I used to always drag my mom to borders so she could buy me a bunch of paperbacks or hardbacks if we couldn't find paper, and they were so expensive. She got me a nook for christmas (she's pretty much stolen it from me though), and the books are much cheaper and it only takes a minute for them to download. Plus, I got this really cool cover for it and it feels and looks like a real book.
