I personally don't use it, unless I'm really hurting for names. Then I use it simply for ideas, and mix-and-match the results. In any case though, I figured this might be of use to others as well.

Here is the LINK (http://www.rinkworks.com/namegen/).

I saw one of those once, tried it out. I kept getting names like 'Abavaliciusokium' and such, so I never really messed with it anymore. I guess it depends on the quality and the time the creator puts into it. I'm trying this one for the Fantasy names with vowels, R's, etc. Heck, these aren't bad! Mm... putting this into favorites. I don't use these much either, but when I see a good name with a few small flaws, I just change 'em up a little and they turn out pretty good. Or I just randomly bash my hands on the keyboard and see what I get.

I always use babyhold.com. You can put in the meaning first and search for names. That way if a defining charachteristic of my charachter is her intelligence, search intelligence, and get Cassidy or something. Tada ^^!

Baby-naming databases only work if you want realistic-sounding names. A fantasy-specific name generator sounds useful, but personally I'm fine just staring at the keyboard until I come up with a random compilation of letters.

Though I tend to have the issue of all of my names sounding too similar, so I don't know. Maybe I'll give this thing a shot.

I dunno, I've found some freaky names on that site. Usually I'll take two forgien names and combine them :P.

Yeah, this one is pretty good. You can make short or medium length names. It comes up with some odd ones, but I usually take a part of one name, and put it with another. I have the same problem with names sounding similar if I make them up myself, cause I try to never use the same name twice.

Useful link. Thanks for posting it. If any of you are interested in software rather than web stuff, check out Everchanging Book of Names. Lots of addon "dictionary" files for different kinds of names, whether they be "elvish" or "Norse." It's a cool app.

This is, by the way, a cool website. I like that it has some options.

*shrug* I tried it, and it didn't really work for me. I think I just sort of get a feel for what my names should sound like, and none of theirs really fits for me. I think I'll just stick with my new method: a temporary hiatus of my two favorite letters, Y and K. And voila! My names don't sound alike anymore.

I try not to use name generators if i can, i like coming up with my own names. Alot of the time the names of my characters mean something in one of my species' language so that sorts out that problem.:D

I dislike name generators usually
I'd rather try coming up with names that have to do with my characters.
Though I have to admit I terminally suck at creating good names. Except for Pirilimpim. I love his name :D

I tried a generator once, but then I found that I like the names I come up with better.
